    Located among gentle hills, this largest zoo in the prefecture is home to over 200 popular animal species (1,600 total animals), including koalas, lesser pandas, and capybaras. There are lots of activities to try too, like riding ponies, petting monkeys and marmosets, and milking animals. You can watch the cute capybaras play in a rock bath during winter.

    Japan’s first National Park. It was created as part of the centennial celebration of the Meiji Restoration. Roughly three million square meters in size—enough to fit about sixty-five Tokyo Domes—the park includes Japan’s largest air trampoline, a playground, athletic equipment, a barbeque spot, an area for viewing all kinds of plant life, from cherry trees to camellia and plum trees. There is also a cycling course and other facilities. You can enjoy them all regardless of age all day in the park.

    一階の庭にはバーベキュー、二階は座席があり普通のレストランとして営業しています。味は本格的で美味しいですよ。

    The Koma-jinja Shrine enshrines Komano Jakko, a settler from Kokuri that was a flourishing northern region of the Korean Peninsula. The shrine celebrated its 1300th year since Koma County was established in 2016. The shrine’s cultural artifacts are exhibited with a chosen theme every year in September in the Koma-jinja meeting hall main room.

    The Miyazawa Lake Hot Springs Kirari Villa is famed for its open-air hot springs overlooking Lake Miyazawa and the Chichibu Mountains. Its facilities are not for visitors under elementary school age. The facility offers heated cells and bedrock bathing, which is popular with women primarily for its detox and cosmetic effects. The buffet restaurant is a refined calming space where local seasonal vegetables are boutifully offered.

    As a foreigner using this onsen I sadly felt like an exhibit in a zoo and I'm not easily made to feel uncomfortable. The young staff were super unfriendly. I always make a point when using an onsen...

    Tove Jansson Akebono Children's Forest Park is a Moomin-themed park in an attractively planted environment. The Moomin Mansion, three stories plus a basement, a large, warm, wooden building centered on a fireplace, is a place for excited children to explore. The Forest House is a museum that displays materials about the life of children's author Tove Jansen, and there is a library on the second floor. Near the entrance to the park is a children's theater, popular with children for the musical events and story readings are held.

In addition to the thermal springs, the restaurant is popular for its discriminating menu replete with fresh locally grown produce, and the specialty of Ogawa Town, hand-made soba noodles.

    日帰り温泉施設内のカフェ。ここはフリースペースも兼ねていてメニューをオーダーしなくても利用でき、大きなスクリーンで映画を上映している。館内唯一のフリーWi-Fiスポットでもある。

    Sawarabi no Yu located in Oazashimo, Hanno City, Saitama Prefecture is a natural hot spring for day-trippers. It is an alkaline simple spring, and it is said to be effective for atopy, nerve pain, arthritis, and fatigue. You can gaze at scenery with abundant nature from the open-air bath and enjoy yuzu citrus hot water on the winter solstice and see fireflies at a river nearby in summer. It also sells essentials such as bath towels so you can feel free to drop in. As for souvenirs, it has a range of products including ginger, udon noodles and soba noodles and significantly the popular Fukaya spring onion miso (soybean paste).

    This is a community owned and run onsen that is aimed at those coming to the area for outdoor sports. A little rough around the edges, a little cramped but a good soak with standard Japanese comfort...

Enclosed by trees and greenery, the establishment has a hideaway feel. The restaurant serves hamburg steaks, pastas, zosui rice gruel, and more. The establishment also offers a reasonably priced lunchtime set meal which includes a beverage and slice of cake. The establishment's exquisite cheesecake, made with select ingredients, is also available for takeout.

    初めてだと少し迷うような外観のお店です。中に入ると奥行があって席数もおおく、くつろげる店内です。ランチは4種類あったと思います。今回はハンバーグにしました。野菜たっぷりで、手作り感のある料理で、美味しかったです。お店の方もとてもいい方でした。

There's also a local specialty products shop selling strawberry jams and sweets, a restaurant offering udon noodles made with local flour, and a classroom where you can learn how to make handmade udon noodles (advance reservation required).

    日当たりが良い広場でのんびりできます。 四万吉うどんとセットで、物産館での買い物のついでに、イチゴのソフトクリームを食べて日向ぼっこ。 とても気持ちが良いです。

    棒ノ折山に登るために、「やませみ」の広い駐車場に停めさせていただきました。 棒ノ折山から下りて来て、「やませみ」に寄り、買い物をしました。 目的の名栗饅頭は、売り切れていて買えませんでした。 棒ノ折山に登る前に、予約しておくのが正解でした。

The current main building, erected in 1933, has been designated a National Tangible Cultural Property. The establishment serves traditional kaiseki course cuisine made with seasonal ingredients. The vaunted ""Chushichi-meshi"" rice, invented by the inn's eighth owner, Chushichi Yagi, is counted as one of the five great rice dishes of Japan alongside the likes of Fukagawa-meshi."

    昨年9月に会社の旅行で、昼食を食べに立ち寄りました。25名くらいの人数だったので、座敷があり助かりました。山岡鉄舟由来の名物忠七飯が美味かったです。

    A lake situated along Prefectural Route 186 in Moroyama Town, Iruma County, Saitama Prefecture. Created in 1935 to serve as a reservoir for agricultural purposes, this artificial lake is approximately two kilometers in diameter. The lake is surrounded by abundant, seasonal beauty, including cherry blossoms in spring and fall foliage in autumn; it also serves as the starting point for the 11 kilometer long Okumusashi Nature Trail. In addition, visitors can enjoy boating and fishing for Japanese crucian carp.

    A group of cave graves located in Kitayoshimi, Yoshimi Town, Hiki County. Consisting of 219 caves created some 1,400 years ago during the late Kofun period, this site is the largest of its kind in Japan and has been designated a National Historic Site. A series of tunnels used as an underground military factory during World War II can also be found at the site; in addition, the area is a rare habitat in the Kanto region for luminous moss, a designated National Natural Monument.
