A hot spring inn located a 35-minute drive from the Tsuchiura-kita interchange. This long-standing inn was established more than 390 years ago. The waters of the alkaline simple hot spring used to supply the inn's bathhouse are said to benefit such ailments as nerve pain, muscle soreness, and fatigue, in addition to beautifying the skin. The inn has a large indoor bath area as well as an outdoor bath in which visitors can bath while enjoying untouched, natural, seasonal scenery. The inn's bathhouse facilities are open to non-guests and the inn sells a full array of amenities, including shampoo, conditioner, and body soap, as well as shower caps and other useful items.

"A hot spring bathhouse located along the Toride-Tsukuba Line in Tsukuba City, Ibaraki Prefecture. The facility is equipped with an open-air bath where you can enjoy the luxury of hot spring water gushing from 1620 m underground, a highly concentrated carbonated spring, attraction baths, and various other baths, as well as a sauna with an automatic low-rhyu function, five types of bedrock baths, a relaxation salon, and a restaurant. The spring water quality is slightly alkaline sodium. The spring water is a slightly alkaline sodium chloride spring, known as ""hot water of heat"" because of its high heat-retaining capacity and difficulty in cooling off."

A hot spring bath facility on Mt. Tsukuba in Ibaraki Prefecture. In addition to a large bath, Yurinosato has two outdoor baths, each of which offers a different but spectacular view of Mt. Tsukuba. Which outdoor bath is the men's and which is the women's changes daily and can be checked on the bathhouse' website. Yurinosato also offers massages and foot care. In the bathhouse' restaurant, operated by JA Yasato, you can enjoy dishes made with local ingredients. The adjoining local specialty shop sells fresh vegetables from area farms and other goods.

"A day trip hot spring bathhouse located 40 minutes from the Tsuchiura-kita interchange on the Joban Expressway. Here visitors can spend a whole day enjoy a variety of baths in the magnificent nature of Mt. Tsukuba. The bathhouse source hot spring, the Mt. Tsukuba Onsen, is an alkaline simple hot spring. Its waters are colorless and odorless and said to benefit such ailments as nerve pain, muscle soreness, and sensitivity to cold. In addition to an outdoor bath, large indoor bath, sauna, cold bath, and bubble bath, the bathhouse also has the only reservable private hot spring bath in the Mt. Tsukuba area. The bathhouse restaurant's kamameshi rice dishes are particularly popular, such as the ""Tori Kamameshi"" chicken and rice, ""Sansai Kamameshi"" edible wild plants and rice, and the ""Kani Kamameshi"" crab and rice prepared right in front of diners."

Ibaraki Areas

around-area-map

Just a stone’s throw from Tokyo, Ibaraki is a coastal prefecture that has mastered juxtapositions, where old shrines meet new scientific discoveries and traditional gardens are frequented by the inventors of some of the newest technology. Head to Mito City's Kairakuen - one of Japan's Three Great Gardens - in spring to experience the cellestial blooming of fantastic cherry blossoms at the annual sakura festival.
