    A charming restaurant located inside an old remodeled private home a short ways off the approach to the popular Dazaifu Tenmangu shrine. Well-renowned and popular with tourists as well, here diners can enjoy healthy homemade cuisine prepared with seasonal, hand-picked mountain vegetables. The daily special, veritably packed with the flavors of the season, is Ochacha’s most popular menu selection. The mountain vegetable and tenmusu (onigiri with shrimp tempura filling) set, which comes with healthy sides and soup, is also an excellent choice. The restaurant also has a full selection of desserts, such as zenzai (sweet red bean soup) and yomogi shiratama (rice flour dumplings with mugwort), making it a great place to stop by before or after exploring Dazaifu.

    Walked by and saw they had Hokkaido milk ice cream (380 yen). Had a nice flavor but its too soft, higher water content perhaps? Id skip the soft ice cream.
