This statue of a peeing boy was based on anecdotes about local children and travelers who tested their bravery here by peeing off the edge of the 200-meter cliff above the Iya River. Created in 1968 by Tokushima sculptor Ryoko Kawasaki, the statue stands on a rock in Nana Magari (seven curves), said to be the hardest part of the Iya Kaido Highway.

This mountain settlement is lined with around 70 homes built from the mid-Edo period to the early Showa period on a steep slope with an elevation difference of 390 meters.
