Todoroki Waterfalls were selected as one of the 100 best Japanese waterfalls. This waterfall which boasts of being the largest in Shikoku, has the feature of a superb resounding thunderous roaring and ground trembling. The waterfall is also enshrined at Todoroki Shrine and Ryuo-ji Temple. Various large and small waterfalls occur in succession upstream such as Ookarasu-Kokarasu falls and Torigaeshi falls, and as a general term, the waterfalls are also called “Todoroki Kujuku-taki Waterfalls”.

    Tokushima Pref. Miyoshishi Minochoukamonomiya
"A pair of 14-meter-tall waterfalls on the Takiya River, a tributary of the Yoshino River. The first waterfall is beyond the valley east of the Taki-ji temple, and the second is a further 60 meters in. Located close to Koyo Onsen, there is a walking path and a rest area at the end of the path. Due to its particularly beautiful appearance during the fall foliage season, the waterfall is also known as ""Fall Foliage Falls."""
  • Biwa-no-taki (Biwa Waterfall)
    Travel / Tourism
    Tokushima Pref. Miyoshishi Nishiyayamamurazentoku
The Biwa-no-taki (Biwa Waterfall) is located on the Iyagawa River, a tributary of the Yoshino River. The water flows straight down like white threads over bare rock from a height of 50 meters, making for a very beautiful sight. The waterfall derives its name (“Waterfall of the Lute”) from a legend that one of the defeated members of the Taira family living here in exile after the Gempei War sat by the waterfall and played melodies on his Biwa lute recalling the glories of Kyoto.
