    A roadside station about 10 minutes by car on the Wakimachi Interchange. The facility is a renovated old storehouse, appearing to melt into the surrounding town of Udatsu with its Edo period atmosphere. The retail shop on the first floor sells products made in Tokushima Prefecture. The second floor has a free rest area and a cafe, where you can eat handmade ice cream and meals made with Awaodori chicken. “Mimakara” ice cream has local specialty Ao-togarashi spice that adds some spice to the sweetness. Walking around Yoshida Residence or the Udatsu streets of Wakimachi is recommended.

The tourist center features shops with famous local goods and an area that serves light German-themed breakfasts. At the station’s Irori no Ma, a traditional-style room featuring a Japanese sunken hearth, visitors can experience ancient cultures and lifestyles first hand.

    焼山寺参拝の途中に一寸休憩にと立寄りました。 地元物産販売コーナーが充実した道の駅としてはシンプルな施設となっており、休憩がてら軽食を摂るにも便利でした。猶、派手な設備はありませんでしたが、館内にはレストランもあり食事を摂る事も可能でした。

    Roadside Station Oboke is located in Miyoshi City. Besides the Monster House and Stone Museum, which feature 70 monsters from local legends and a sample of the rudaceous schist that has been designated as a Natural Monument, there is also a hotspring footbath (open on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from March to November) where visitors can relax and enjoy beautiful views of the Yoshino River, as well as a gift-shop selling local Miyoshi specialties and natural stones, a café, etc.

    There seem to be many ghost legends in Oboke. I thought whether this facilitiy to be so-called haunted houses, but was not scared at all. Various ghosts were displayed and were quite worth...

    This waterside park located along the Naka River offers visitors the chance to experience canoeing. It also includes the lower station of the Tairyuji Ropeway, western Japan’s longest aerial lift. The Washi no Sato Tourist Information and Local Products Center has information about tourism and local products, a souvenir shop, and a rest hall. It is often bustling with pilgrims and tourists visiting Tairyuji Temple, the 21st temple of the Shikoku Pilgrimage, which is located at the terminus of the ropeway.

    太龍寺ロープウェイ乗り場にあり、観光物産センター、水際公園、売店、宿泊施設、日帰り入浴などを備える大規模な道の駅で、駐車場も広々としています。朱色の欄干の橋を渡ると、入り口は唐破風が張り出した寺院風で、内部には夫婦鷲の一刀彫りがありました。売店では編み笠や白装束を販売しており、四国らしさを感じます。

    This roadside rest area is located on National Route 55 in Minami Town, Kaifu County, Tokushima Prefecture. Many locals as well as tourists use this rest area built next to JR Hiwasa Station. There is a hot spring footbath, and visitors can refresh their feet after sightseeing or making the Shikoku pilgrimage. The produce hall sells local specialties, light snacks, and locally made goods. There is also a food court and even a fortuneteller. It also offers collectable commemorative roadside station tickets.
