The "Tsubo Pudding" in an unglazed jar is a masterpiece that combines sweet cream, savory homemade caramel, and rich custard. It is popular not only for home use but also as a souvenir.

Tea room mahisa, which opened in 1987, has consistently given patrons the opportunity to enjoy first-class tea made by adding plenty of milk to strong black tea. Being able to get the full, rough-edged flavor of the tea is the reason why Tea room mahisa has remained so popular. Tea room mahisa is located around four minutes’ walk from JR Settsumotoyama Station and from Hankyu Railway Okamoto Station.

    阪急岡本駅から南に下り徒歩5分ほどで着きます。ティーセットで美味しい紅茶とスコーンを頂きました。店内も落ち着いた雰囲気です。

This café and Western-style sweets shop is about a five-minute walk from Arimaonsen Station and is inside a white building with a Western ambience. It makes one think of a café that a French person opened in Arimaonsen, and features antique furniture and stylish terrace seating, as well as Japanese rooms that really capture the hot spring town atmosphere. The main offerings are cakes with fruit and French sweets, though there's also tanba kuromame (black bean) pudding and other Japanese sweets. The “Arima rolls,” which use hot spring salt from Arima's Kaneizumi spring, are particularly popular.

A bakery located just outside the south exit of Hankyu Okamoto Station. They've been making their specialty brick oven bread since their founding in 1932. The shop is like an old-fashioned Japanese house. Packed with hand-made items, you may feel a sense of nostalgia even if it's your first time visiting. Their signature white loaves are so popular you might want to order in advance as they often sell out. Soft and chewy inside with crispy heels, it's so good you'll want to have it every day. Other popular items include their An-Doughnuts made with the same dough as their white bread and filled with coarse red bean jam and curry buns made with a roux from an Indian restaurant.

Hyogo prefecture stretches from the north coast to the south coast on the western end of the popular Kansai region, encompassing verdant mountains, urban beaches, and fantastic historical sights. The prefecture’s main attractions lie along the south coast at Kobe, the prefectural capital, a pretty harbor city best known for its production of the renowned Kobe beef, and Himeji, the home of Himeji Castle, one of the country’s most beautifully preserved feudal castles, perched magically atop a hill.
