"This temple belonging to the Otani Sect of Shin Buddhism is located about a 200-meters walk east of Onsenji Temple. The temple was founded in 1601 by the priest Ikenobo. During the Edo period it was a branch temple of Higashi-Honganji Temple known as Yunoyama Gobo. The flowering plum tree on its grounds is said to be more than two centuries old. The famous tree was named Mikaiko by Saint Jyonyo, the 19th high priest of Higashi-Honganji Temple, for the redness of its plum blossoms even as buds. Legend has it that a person who eats the fruit of the tree will be blessed with child, earning the tree the nicknames ""Harami no Ume"" and ""Nimushin no Ume."""

"This residence, also known as the Hakogi Sennenya House, was the home of a powerful family in the Muromachi period. Traditionally believed to have been constructed during between 806 and 810, the home is said to be the oldest surviving private house in Japan. Due to the construction of Donto Dam in 1977, the home relocated from its original location slightly northwest of its current location. At the time of the survey conducted before the home was dismantled, it had a floor plan called ""Seikei Mutsumadori"" that is comprised of six rooms and an earth-floored area. However, it was later separated into two buildings sometime in the late Edo period. These two buildings were transferred to the new location and reconstructed. The museum located inside the storehouse features exhibits including agricultural implements used at the time as well as a model of the home."

A soba restaurant located in the Arima Onsen hot spring district. Depending on how they will be eaten, the restaurant makes its noodles with flours made from two different varieties of buckwheat-Shinshu Shinano No. 1 and Dattan Soba. Both varieties are used to make juwari soba noodles made with 100% buckwheat flour and ni-hachi soba noodles made with 80% buckwheat flour and 20% wheat flour, giving customers the opportunity to taste, compare, and choose their favorite mix. In order to allow customers to further enjoy the flavor of the noodles, the restaurant's cold zaru soba noodles are garnished with salt in addition to a dashi dipping sauce. The restaurant offers a free soba noodle making class and, with an advance reservation, customers can choose to make either juwari or ni-hachi noodles and then boil and eat them on the spot.

A shop which carries ningyo fude doll brushes, a local Arima craft. Ningyo fude are Japanese writing brushes wrapped in silk thread woven to create beautiful patterns and capped at one end with a cute doll figurine. The history of ningyo fude dates back to the distant Muromachi period (1336-1573) when Emperor Kotoku, the 36th emperor of Japan, who had long struggled to produce an heir, was blessed with a child upon visiting Arima Onsen; doll brushes such as those sold here were created to celebrate the emperor's good fortune. The brushes are covered with silk thread woven in one of four traditional geometrical patterns-ichimatsu check, yagasuri arrow feather, seigaiha wave, or uroko scale. A variety of attractive color combinations are on offer for customers to choose from.

A bar designed to be a place to have fun located on the first floor of the Arima Toys & Automata Museum. Notable for its lack of entrance doors, giving the establishment an open and airy feeling, the bar carries a full selection of draft beers, wine, and other alcoholic beverages as well as food such as special sausages flavored with herbs. The lunchtime curry, created by the owner, is widely praised as delicious. eSports viewings and live exhibition matches between skilled players are held here, and clips of particularly fantastic moves are played on the bar's screen.

This Japanese restaurant is approximately eight minutes on foot south of Hanshin Electric Railway's Ishiyagawa Station. It's run by the brewers of Fukuju sake, which has been served at the banquet for the Nobel Prize award ceremony. Guests sip on brews like their unprocessed sake and dine on elegant kaiseki banquet cuisine made with locally sourced ingredients and homemade tofu in a relocated Meiji period wooden storehouse. Their specialty Sakaya Nabe is made with light-brown miso and sake lees leftover from brewing Fukuju. Only available in winter, it features fresh fish, pork, vegetables, and other ingredients imbued with the flavor of the sake lees. Their Soba Zen Japanese style set meal also comes recommended, featuring homemade buckwheat soba noodles in a basket tray along with seasonal fish and vegetables.
