    Hyogo Nishinomiya-shi Tozakicho 1-13
This unique building, a fusion of Western and Japanese architecture, creates a unified landscape with the renowned Muko Ohashi Bridge backed by the Rokko Mountains. Completed as the Koshien Hotel in 1930, the magnificent resort would eventually become known as one of Japan's two greatest hotels together with Tokyo's Imperial Hotel. The building, which features green tile roof and walls with Nikka Stone and bisque tiles, was once a bustling social hub for the members of Hanshinkan's upper class. The hotel would later serve as a navy hospital and then as quarters for American military officers before finally becoming the campus of the Mukogawa Women's University in 2006.

Hyogo prefecture stretches from the north coast to the south coast on the western end of the popular Kansai region, encompassing verdant mountains, urban beaches, and fantastic historical sights. The prefecture’s main attractions lie along the south coast at Kobe, the prefectural capital, a pretty harbor city best known for its production of the renowned Kobe beef, and Himeji, the home of Himeji Castle, one of the country’s most beautifully preserved feudal castles, perched magically atop a hill.
