    Hyogo Pref. Himejishi Honmachi 68
This is a Japanese garden in Himeji City. The gardens were opened in 1992 and make the best use of the ruins of the samurai residence at Himeji Castle Nishioyashiki-ato. The gardens are on grounds of approximately 3.3 hectare and command a view of the World Heritage Site, Himeji Castle—and the gardens contains a group of nine different types of garden such as “The garden of the Lord’s residence” which has a large pond that is home to 250 colourful carp and a waterfall. The gardens are also used as a location for historical dramas as the gardens have scenery reminiscent of the Edo period such as the Tsuiji wall (mud wall with a tiled roof) and the Yashiki-mon Gate. It is well known as a site famed for its autumn leaves, and also holds an illumination during the season.

Incredibly calm and beautiful Gardens. From the well manicured plants and shrubs, to the lovely koi in the lake, it is great to get away from the hustle and bustle of Himeji castle and chill. There...

The garden is located on the west side of San-no-maru square in Himeji Castle, and visitors can see peonies in full bloom on the hillside. The Senhime Botan Festival is held around the end of April every year, with a variety of events including a parade in which a procession of the Princess Senhime-sama is carried into the castle.

These gardens in the honmaru (central bailey) of Ako Castle are said to have been completed in 1661. The vast gardens are built around several ponds inside of the honmaru of the castle, which took more than 13 years to complete. The chisen kansho-shiki teien (pond-viewing gardens) were created at the same time as the construction of Ako Castle on the orders of the Asano clan, the lords of the castle. The Asano clan's estate would later be confiscated after Asano Takuminokami's famous attempt on the life of Kira Kouzunosuke. It would eventually be inherited by the Mori Clan, who partially renovated the garden in the late Edo period. The gardens feature a large pond on the south face of the palace, a small pond in the inner garden of the Nakaoku (lord's residence), and a pond in the northwestern corner of the honmaru. Each has been fully restored, allowing visitors to imagine the garden's scenery at the time. The gardens were designated as a national place of scenic beauty together with Ninomaru Gardens of the castle's outer bailey in 2002.

Hyogo prefecture stretches from the north coast to the south coast on the western end of the popular Kansai region, encompassing verdant mountains, urban beaches, and fantastic historical sights. The prefecture’s main attractions lie along the south coast at Kobe, the prefectural capital, a pretty harbor city best known for its production of the renowned Kobe beef, and Himeji, the home of Himeji Castle, one of the country’s most beautifully preserved feudal castles, perched magically atop a hill.
