The Gishi Treasure Hall displays over 50 items related to the Ako incident in the Genroku era. There's an ancient stump on the grounds known as the ""Oishi-nagori Pine"" from a tree that lived during the era. The temple holds regular Zen meditation, Buddhist scripture copying, and tea ceremony gatherings, and anyone can participate, regardless of their religious affiliation. The site of a castle located close to the Tatsuno City Museum of History and Culture. The castle is believed to have been built in 1499 at the top of Mt. Keiro by Akamatsu Murahide. After four successive generations of lords from the Akamatsu clan, it is said the castle's tower was destroyed when it capitulated during Toyotomi Hideyoshi's conquest of the area on the order of Oda Nobunaga. Thereafter, repairs were made using the stone foundation and then a new castle was built. In 1979, the inner citadel and two-tier corner tower were rebuilt. Today, a trail leads from behind the current Tatsuno Castle to the site of the old castle at the top of the mountain.

Serving as a symbol of the port town of Kobe, this active customs office, located a 15-minute walk south of JR Sannomiya Station, has been used to shoot movies and television dramas. The office' public relations museum contains informational panels presenting the history and roll of the customs office, as well as exhibits on smuggling methods, knockoff goods, and items subject to the CITES treaty. Visitors can also try their hand at guessing which of two items is the real deal and which is the knockoff. During the Open Customs event held each year in November, the office's former reception room for nobility, normally kept closed, is made open to the public, as well as the office's rooftop and other areas.

Located in the Hokudan Earthquake Memorial Park, this facility provides access to the Nojima Fault that caused the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake on January 17, 1995. A portion of the fault appeared at the surface as a result of the quake, and it has been designated a Natural Monument. Visitors gain an understanding of the effects of the disaster, including the shifted topography, through photographs, panel displays, and guided tours. There are realistic reproductions of the area after the earthquake, and on every Tuesday narrators tell the story of what happened at that time. An earthquake experience section lets visitors feel the same level of shaking that occurred during the disaster.

This Hyogo Prefecture Tendai Buddhist temple can be reached by walking 15 minutes east of the JR Sanyo Main Line's Hyogo Station. Established by the priest Saicho in 805, it is an important site for the sect. It prospered along with the transfer of the capital to Fukuhara by the shogun Taira no Kiyomori, and so is also known as Fukuhara Temple. The precincts are home to principal objects of worship that include a triad of Amitabha Buddha statues and a wooden eleven-faced standing image of the Bodhisattva Kannon, as well as the Hyogo Daibutsu, one of Japan's Three Great Buddhas. Annual functions include a period when the Kannon statue is made available for public viewing and a public memorial service for Taira no Kiyomori.

The main deity honored is Guan Yu, a famous military commander from the Sangokushi (Annals of the Three Kingdoms). It also honors Kannon, the goddess of mercy, and Maso, the queen of heaven. The framed plaque on the main gate, the temple's symbol, was created by the world-famous calligrapher Yu Youren. The temple has a thoroughly Chinese atmosphere with features like an inner gate modeled on a Chinese legend ""Toryumon"" which means ""gateway to success"" and the roof of the main temple with the same imperial-colored roof tiles as the Forbidden City in Beijing and statues of blue dragons."
