"You can reach this museum by getting off at the JR Rokko Liner's Minami-Uozaki Station, taking the elevator to the first floor, and walking two minutes northwest. The museum displays an array of small sake related items, as well as the ""Nada-based Sake Brewery's Equipment,"" a nationally designated Important Tangible Folk Cultural Property. The original building collapsed in the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake, and the current structure incorporates some of its beams and pillars. Interacting with the equipment will give you a feel for the traditional Kimoto method for brewing sake, as well as the work and life of the brewers. They have tastings that include raw, unprocessed sake as well. Their original Sakagura Soft Serve Ice Cream is a hit."

We just spent a wonderful morning at the brewery. An informative video, small exhibition and tasting. Rather than walking to another brewery, we decided to take the tour of factory where they make...

Located about a five-minute walk southeast from the Hankyu Kobe Line's Mikage Station, many visitors come to this Shinto shrine with its symbol of a mythical raven to pray for victory. The shrine has deep ties to Japanese soccer, as Japan's first soccer team hails from Mikage. The shrine shares its raven symbol with the Japan Football Association, and there's even a granite soccer ball statue installed beside the main hall. The figure skater Yuzuru Hanyu has come here to pray before competitions, so it's become a sort of sacred spot for his fans and those who want to cheer him on.

Yuzuruha Shrine is located near Hankyu Mikage station. It is an old shrine, which foundation remount to Heian Period. But recently it attracts the attention of the people, because its name recalls a...

This sake brewery museum is located in Kobe City. The Hakutsuru Sake Brewery which was built in the Taisho period is being used in its original form. Exhibitions on display in the museum include materials related to the brewing of “sake” (Japanese rice wine), tools actually used in the process of sake brewing and an exhibition of dummies that recreate the details of making sake in accordance with old-fashioned manufacturing processes. The process of making refined sake is introduced in a way which is easy to understand from washing the rice, introduction of “koji” (malted rice) to the filling of casks. There is also a free sake tasting corner and a shop.

"This Buddhist temple is in Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture. You can reach it by taking a Kobe City bus to Maya Cable Shita, taking the Maya Ropeway to Hoshi-no-Shita Station, and then walking about ten minutes. It's a sacred site on devotional circuits like the Floral Temples of the Kansai Region, the New Saigoku, and the Kobe Jusanbutsu pilgrimages. It was founded in 646 by Hodo Sennin on the orders of Emperor Kotoku. On the precincts you'll find the Tenjikudo Hall that enshrines a marble image brought from India of Maya, the historical Buddha's wife, as well as the Hana Mandala Bell cast with the imprints of 33 kinds of flowers. The principle object of worship is a hibutsu ""hidden image"" that's thought to ward off evil and invite prosperity."

Absolutely fantastic place. Beautiful temple in high mountains without thousands of people. So peaceful and quiet.

A five-minute walk from Uozaki Station on the Hanshin Electric Railway. This museum displays sake brewing equipment, old fashioned signboards, sake bottles, labels, and other items which speak of the history of Sakura Masamune, a sake brewing company founded 300 years ago and whose origins date back 400 years. The museum also shows rare footage of how sake was once made in Japan. The museum is adjoined by a Japanese restaurant, exhibition gallery, and cafe. The Sakura shop sells fresh made sake brewed in a separate building by volume and also carries local specialty and famous products which make perfect gifts and souvenirs.

Good place for sake tasting, before purchase. The exhibition is also very interesting if you have not visit one before.

Yahata-no-Ookami, Amaterasu-Oomikami, and Kasuga-no-Ookami are enshrined in the precincts of the shrine, which is nicknamed ""Hachiman-san"". There are various theories as to the origin of the shrine, and it is said to have been founded either during the Manju period (1024-1028) or around 1180, when the capital was moved to Fukuhara by Taira no Kiyomori. The Yaku-yoke (warding off evil) Festival, held annually on January 18-19, attracts a lot of people who come to the precincts and the approach to the shrine to buy ""Hamaya"" (arrow-shaped amulet) to ward off evil."

    暗くなってしまった為、やや心配したのですが境内は開放されており、拝殿には電気も灯っており、参拝が可能でした。因みに阪急六甲駅から直ぐ近くに境内が広がっており、境内と抜けて行き来する地元の方も目立っていました。

"This mansion art museum is one of the most exemplary art museums in Mikage. It houses a collection of ancient oriental art most notably including 19 Important Cultural Properties and 23 Important Works of Art collected by Ryohei Murayama, the founder of the Asahi Shimbun. The name ""Kosetsu"" comes from the pseudonym of Murayama, who was an expert in the art of the tea ceremony. The museum covers a wide range of genres including Buddhist art, calligraphy, and early modern period painting. It also holds themed Collection Exhibits in the spring and fall. The museum's Baienkai, events that combine a tea ceremony with a lecture about the theme of the current exhibit, are a familiar venue for deepening one's understanding of the museum's collection."

This western-style building decorated with cresting and scrollwork building is one of the largest surviving Kobe Ijinkan (foreigner residences). It is situated in a corner of the Kobe Oji Zoo, which exhibits 130 species of animal including giant pandas and koalas. The building, which features a stone foundation and combed mortar exterior walls, was relocated from its original location in Kitano-cho in 1963. Although the exact year of its construction is unknown, it is said that a German named A. Greppi commissioned an English engineer with its construction in 1889. The home, which still conveys how extravagant it must have appeared at the time, can be toured free of charge (although there is a charge for admission to the zoo).

This archaeological museum is located about eight minutes southwest of Arima Onsen Station. The museum exhibits items dating to the Azuchi-Momoyama period that were excavated from the archeological site discovered under the kitchen of Gokurakuji Temple, which was destroyed by the Great Hanshin Earthquake of 1995. This includes artifacts such as roof tiles and tea utensils as well as the ruins of bathtubs and a garden believed to have been part of the Yunoyama Goten villa built by Toyotomi Hideyoshi. Although the existence of the Yunoyama Goten had long been known to tradition, no blueprints or other historical documents supporting its existence are known to exist. The facility, which opened in 1999, exhibits the ruins of the villa's steam baths and stone bathtubs just as they were discovered.

"This residence was where the literary master Junichiro Tanizaki lived for seven years from 1936-1943. The attached Tanizaki Library features a collection of books, reference literature, and other items. The home, where he Tanizaki lived with his wife Matsuko and her younger sisters, inspired the setting of his masterpiece ""The Makioka Sisters"" (Sasameyuki). The world of the novel, which realistically depicted life in the home, will vividly come to life as you set foot inside. The attached library, which was built on the 20th anniversary of the home's relocation, exhibits works written in Tanizaki's own hand."
