This is a restaurant in the center of the path leading to the Zenkoji Temple. The restaurant’s sauce katsudon, topped with fried pork cutlets smothered in a homemade sauce and fried eggs, are made according to the same recipe as when Marusei opened after the end of the Second World War, providing Zenkoji Temple worshippers with a familiar flavor. Marusei also offers a set including its famous katsudon with stone ground soba (buckwheat) noodles.

ここは、抜群にうまい店。「りんごで育った信州牛」というものを初めて食べたが、筋の入り方、やわらかさ、旨み。食べた瞬間に口の中でシュワっと広がるような感覚。どれも飛騨牛や松阪牛にも勝るとも劣らないと思った。そこに至るまでのおもてなしと景観、雰囲気は格別の域。接待など特別なシーンでは重宝したい店。

長野駅から歩いて５分ほどのところにある和風居酒屋さん。店に入ると、和服姿の店員さんが出迎えてくれました。落ち着いた雰囲気で上質な感じが素敵。天ぷらの盛り合わせ、お刺身など和食はなかなかおいしかったですね。ビールや日本酒がよく進んで、つい酔いすぎました。

長野駅から歩いてすぐのところにあるモツ鍋のお店。食べたくなったのでつい足を運びました。ニラが若干少ない感じもしましたが、ぷりぷりのモツに旨みのあるダシ。さすがのおいしさでした。九州の味という事でお酒は焼酎に。黒霧島をおいしくいただきました。
