    Created by an esthetic salon, this restaurant specializes in food made with ginger. Using ginger brought in from contracted farmers in Koichi Prefecture, the restaurant serves a variety of ginger-based dishes. The ginger hot pot, where you can taste the difference between the kintoki ginger packed with a sharp, spicy flavor and the sweetness of fresh oshoga ginger, is enough to warm the body and is a particular favorite on the menu. Their shoga gorogoro kaminari gyoza (ginger dumplings) eaten with nine different kinds of salt, is also highly recommended. The restaurant is approximately three minutes on foot from Fukushima Station on the Osaka Loop Line.

Every day, Kokoya takes fresh fish and seafood delivered from Awaji Island and cooks it in the most delicious possible way. There is also an impressive line-up of wines and spirits, including many items that are normally difficult to get hold of; for example, Kokoya generally has at least 20 different types of sake on hand. The combination of a relaxing dining environment, good wine and good food is sure to put a smile on your face. Kokoya is located around five minutes' walk from Kitashinchi Station on the Yotsubashisuji Subway Line.

    Mimiu is a long-established restaurant that traces its origins back to Mimiu-ro, a 200-year-old restaurant in Sakai City, Osaka Prefecture. The name was changed to Mimiu when the restaurant was transformed into a specialist noodle restaurant in 1925. Mimiu’s signature dish is Udon Suki (seafood and vegetable hotpot served with udon noodles), cooked using a special Kansai-style broth. Several different set meals are available at different prices. At Mimiu’s Main Branch, Soba noodles made using 100-percent buckwheat flour (with no wheat flour added) are available, up to a limited number of servings per day. All seating is in private rooms, with rooms for every occasion from small-scale get-togethers to large-scale banquets; Mimiu provides a relaxing environment tailored to meet customers’ needs.

    久し振りにランチを摂りに訪問しました。いつも混み合っている印象があった為、少し時間を遅らせたところ待ち時間無しで席に案内されました。今回はメニューの中から気になった「ゆば」の蕎麦を選択しました。厚めのゆばが乗った代物で、うどん専門店にも関わらず蕎麦を堪能出来ました。

    This is a tempura specialty restaurant located in the “Kitashinchi,” downtown area of Osaka Kita with many high class and well-known eateries. The tempura is delicious as it retains the texture of the ingredients which are chosen carefully according to the season and their freshness. The produce used is high quality, the vegetables coming from farms in Minoh and Nose picked freshly in the morning, and the whiting, live prawns, live conger eel etc. from Awaji Island. The chef adjusts the amount of flour and frying according to the dish. Depending on the season, visitors may be able to try a unique item that is not usually available to eat. The restaurant also offers a reasonably priced tendon (bowl of rice with tempura) for lunch. The nearest station is Kitashinchi Station.

    This is a kushikatsu (skewers of fried food) specialty restaurant located in the underground shopping area “Namba Walk” near Namba Subway Station. It is a popular casual shop where you can taste hot fried kushikatsu, and in addition to the classic skewers such as beef and pork, chicken, whiting and onions, seasonal skewers such as conger eel, sweetfish and oysters are also popular. The light and crispy batter of coarse bread crumbs mixed with beer is delicious. In the restaurant there is a counter to stand and drink, as well as table seats making it an easy place to drop in for a drink on the way home from work alone or with friends for a party. Please, no double dipping in the sauce.

    This small, hideaway restaurant is located on the second floor of a multi-use building. A single person manages its small interior. Their specialty is maguro no ganniku (tuna eye meat). The meat at the back of tuna eyes has a unique texture and flavor since it is used to support their eyeballs. You can enjoy them as sashimi or grilled. The owner changes the menu according to what is available that day, and the omakase course is a good deal.

    Really a great evening. The food was wonderful. Great selection of fresh seafood. The chef was friendly and helpful. Had a local feel about the restaurant.

    This is a traditional Japanese restaurant using seasonal produce where guests can experience the four seasons, run by the head chef Urabe Yoshie. The staff are all women, providing food with a feminine touch, creating a relaxing atmosphere where you can relax and enjoy the seasonal dishes. Only course meals are available at this restaurant. There are five to nine course meals that include appetizers, side dishes, colorful bento-boxes, and seasonal deserts. Also, there is an omakase course allowing the restaurant to decide on dishes for the customer according to their budget.

    This hideaway-style chicken restaurant has been unceasingly popular since it opened in 1953. The restaurant's unfinished wood counter is its main seating area but it also has tables. Offering yakitori grilled chicken skewer courses, sashimi, set meals, and a la carte dishes, here customers can enjoy the true flavor of chicken. As the establishment is quite popular, prospective customers are recommended to make a reservation.

    Concierge recommended, and this place did not disappoint. All chicken Yakitori from hearts and livers, to best cuts, skin and even sashimi chicken. Chef and staff are fabulous and we will return.

    This jokan hot sake bar has been in business for over 170 years since 1844. The bar is famous for its Kantodaki (oden) and sweet glazed octopus kanroni. The Kita location is situated in the Shin-Umeda Shokudogai restaurant mall. The bar also pays great attention to its sakes, and slowly warms each serving using a tin decanter in order to fully draw out the flavor. A popular establishment, when crowded a two-hour limit is put in place and large groups may have their place in line moved up or down depending on whether they wish to sit together or separately.
