A hotel with a bathhouse also available to non-guests located a five minute drive from JR Anamizu Station. As its name implies, the hotel looks like a Japanese castle from the outside, and all guest rooms have a sweeping ocean view of Anamizu Bay. The hotel's vaunted bathhouse also boasts this gorgeous view and has a lie down bath, jacuzzi, and a bath filled with a monthly changing bath blend. The bathhouse' bedrock bath is only available to women and may be used on Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The hotel serves food made with fresh, seasonal ingredients; the dancing charcoal grilled oysters, an Anamizu specialty, are a particular draw. You can also enjoy seasonal Noto flavors like abalone, Noto beef, and local liquors.

I currently live and work in Tokyo, so a visit to the coast is one thing, but Anamizu, close to Noto raises the bar, this sleepy little place is worth exploring and Castle Manai is a great base, nice...

A free footbath located close to the Wajima Kobo Nagaya facility a 10 minute walk from Roadside Station Wajima Furatto-homu. Consisting of a wooden footbath inside a structure built like an old-fashioned Japanese home, 12 seats painted with Wajima lacquer surround the bath. There's also a hot spring bath just for pets right outside. The hot spring's sodium and calcium chloride waters come from a high temperature, hypertonic, weakly alkaline source spring and are said to east nerve and muscle pain, aid sensitivity to cold, and assist in recovery from fatigue. You can bring your own towel or buy one in Wajima Kobo Nagaya.

A 45-minute drive north from the Nishiyama Interchange on the Noto-Satoyama Kaido via National Route 249 along the Sea of Japan. This natural radon hot spring bathhouse is located inside the View Sunset hotel. Situated on a hill, one of the bathhouse' draws is its sweeping view of the ocean, and visitors can gaze at the Sea of Japan beyond the windows of the indoor bathing areas. Sights such as the sun sinking into the sea at dusk and the isaribi firelight lure fishing conducted after dark out on the water create a romantic atmosphere. In addition to indoor bathing areas, the bathhouse is also replete with saunas. Open to non-guests as well, the bathhouse is a great place to drop by while going on a scenic drive through the area or after a day at the beach.

A hot spring area popular due to its delicious food from Wajima Port as well as its excellent location close to sightseeing destinations such as Sodegahama Beach and Ryugasaki Lighthouse. The area’s hot spring waters, transported from the No. 2 Source Spring chloride spring in Wajima City, are said to treat such ailments as rheumatism, muscle soreness, lower back pain, joint pain, sprains, women’s diseases, sensitivity to cold, and skin diseases. At night, visitors can watch traditional isaribi firelight lure fishing in Wajima Bay. The Wajima Morning consists of over 200 stalls; it is considered one of Japan’s three greatest morning markets. Its history stretches back more than 1,200 years. After a day of relaxing bathing, be sure to wake up early the following morning so you can see the market for yourself. Visitors can also try chinkin gold inlaid lacquering and maki-e gold and silver lacquering in one of the area’s Wajima lacquerware studios. The Wajima Museum of Urushi Art, the world’s only dedicated lacquerware art museum, is also a recommended destination.

Ishikawa Areas

Long, thin Ishikawa prefecture runs along the Sea of Japan up into Noto Peninsula. Highlights of the seaside towns lining the west coast include Kanazawa, often described as a "Little Kyoto" thanks to its old wooden tea houses and geisha culture as well as its picturesque Japanese garden, Kenroku-en.
