    The Hakone Meissen Antique Museum displays a range of more than 300 pieces of porcelain made from the Meissen kilns with a focus on works from the 18th to the 19th century. Various pieces of work, such as antique tableware and figurines, chandeliers, and mechanical dolls which move when touched, as well as many valuable collections are on display in the museum. The building which used to be the residence of the former Governor of the Bank of Japan, Hisato Ichimada, was moved from Aoyama, Tokyo and rebuilt here in Hakone. In the garden you can find a cafe and foot bath so you can sit back and relax in between appreciating the works of art on display. The nearest stations are Gora Station and Koen-kami Station.

    We live in a hotel very close to this museum. One day, on our way to gora station, we spot this tiny place. My son insisted to go check it out. So we went into it. IT is a very tiny house maybe...

    This gallery was constructed as part of the Nissan Motor Co. head office in 1-Chome, Takashima, Nishi Ward, Yokohama City. There are vehicle displays, such as Nissan’s commercially-available cars, race cars, historical cars, and concept cars, as well as document exhibits which trace Nissan’s history. Every day they hold a test drive even where you can ride a Nissan car and follow a course set up on the general roads and highways nearby. Additionally, you’ll find a shop that sells all Nissan goods and a cafe.

    An art museum shrouded in greenery inside Takasuna Ryokuchi Park just an eight-minute walk from JR Chigasaki Station. The museum holds a wide variety of special exhibitions to provide visitors with opportunities to come in contact with all manner of art. In addition to three galleries, the museum also has a studio, book corner, and café overlooking the grounds, providing content and activities for the whole family to enjoy.

    茅ヶ崎市は人口24万人でコンパクトな規模ですが、市で比較的小規模ながら美術館も20年前から運営しているなど文化施設が充実してて、近所の方が羨ましいですね。事情を良く知らず隣の芝は青い的な発想かもしれませんが、年間パスポートで何回でもと言っても、実際には10回以上通うにはかなりの努力が必要かと思います。

    This is an art museum opposite “Hakone Botanical Garden of Wetlands” at Sengokuhara, Hakone Town. It houses armor and weapons, Ukiyoe prints, and tea ceremony items from between the Muromachi period to the end of the Edo period, constantly displaying about 300 items. There is also an area where visitors can try on armor and shogunate police (Shinsengumi) clothes.

    建物は小さいが、展示品はそれなりに充実している。 鎧、刀、鉄砲等、戦国時代好きには面白いと思うが館内がとにかく寒かった。 展示品保存状態を保つ為かも知れないが、この時期にはきつい。 自分は家族で行ったが、歴史に興味がない子供には辛い様で、早めに退館する羽目になってしまい残念だった。 浮世絵や百人一首等、女性や子供に興味を持たせる材料はあるのになんか勿体無い施設だ。

    A trick art museum located on the fourth floor of Landmark Plaza in Yokohama Landmark Tower, a five minute walk from JR Sakuragicho Station. Here you can view trick art such as flat paintings which looking stunningly three dimensional and other artworks which will fool your eyes. Based around the themes of sea travel and adventure, the museum is divided into the departure, exploration, mysterious ship’s bottom, and treasure zones, where you’ll find artwork that can be visually enjoyed and touched, and even exhibits which you can take a photo with.

    Find this on the fourth floor of Yokohama Landmark Tower. Quite small but a lot of fun. Staff were extremely helpful and spoke good English. Stored our shopping and coats and took photos for us...

Kiyokata’s final home, a Japanese-style residence, was remodeled and converted into the museum.     This trick art museum is inside Yokohama Daisekai, one of Chinatown’s largest Chinese Theme Parks, located about one minute walk from Motomachi-Chukagai Station. Stretching from the third floor to the top of the building, this facility features displays to exercise your brain, trick the eyes, and display 3D art. There are paintings using optical illusions to trick the eye, like the Flying Carpet or Flying Dragon, the Science Mystery Experience where you can go inside a soap bubble, and Japan’s first Laser Art Theater. You can touch and photograph all the art displays, and there’s enough strangeness to please kids and adults of all ages.

The museum displays a seasonally-changing and diverse collection of pieces, including tableware by Kitaoji Rosanjin, a noted artist who also worked as a chef; and lacquerware which conveys traditional Japanese culture.

    田中武さんの神7みたくて、わたしたちの絵 時代の自画像 開催中に拝見しました。実物が巨大で大満足。13人の作家の選定がバランスとれていると思った。鎌倉殿と同じ人数なのは狙ったのだろうか。徒歩なら平塚駅の西口からが正解だと思う。メインの北口からだと1国で歩道橋使わないと行けないから。

    北鎌倉駅から円覚寺に向かって歩いていたらありました。非常に便利なところです。いやでも目につきます。聞いた話では築100年以上の古民家とか。素晴らしいことです。こういう形で古民家を残していけるとは。建築を勉強している人は是非、見学してください。

    音響もよく気持ちいいホールですが、アクセスは最寄り駅からバスしかなく、車がない人にはつらいロケーションです。ホール周りに買い物できるお店などもあまりないです。

    北大路魯山人の展示品がありました。才能の煌めきの数々を見るのはとても楽しいです。小町通りにある源吉兆庵のお店の裏側にありました。来る人はなく一人でゆっくりと優雅な鑑賞でした。

Kanagawa prefecture acts as an extension of the Tokyo metropolis that spills over into coastal towns, most notably Yokohama city, heavily populated and known for its Chinatown and seaside attractions. Just the right distance for a day trip out of Tokyo, Kanagawa is home to some of Tokyo’s most accessible beaches, including around Kamakura, best known for its Big Buddha. Visitors can also travel a little farther afield for a weekend at Hakone onsen town.
