    Opened in 1987, the Machida City Museum of Graphic Arts is one of the few museums in the world dedicated to print art. The museum collects, preserves, and researches Japanese print art from the Nara period to the modern age as well as print art from around the world. The museum also has a studio where you can experience the fun of making print art yourself. Each printmaking course has a specified enrollment period and requires advanced registration.

    Located just a one minute walk away from Takaosanguchi Station on the Keio Takao Line. Established in 1996, this museum is dedicated to trick art. A popular tourist destination, the museum has been featured on TV, in newspapers, and via a variety of other media. The museum is filled with every kind of trick art imaginable, and not only are you allowed to take photos and videos, but many of the exhibits can be touched as well. With special approval from the Egyptian embassy, the museum also has ancient Egypt-themed exhibits featuring the Sphinx and mummies, and the museum shop offers goods imported directly from Egypt.

    町田駅からはかなり遠くなりますが、薬師池公園の敷地の片隅に位置している市民のためのフォトサロンです。こちらで展示をされた知人がいて、連絡をもらった時に訪れてみました。 二階建てですがフロア面積は小さ目。本当に市民ギャラリーと言った雰囲気です。公園内の散策がてら立ち寄るのにちょうど良いと思います。
