    Tokyo Setagaya-ku Gotokuji 2-14-1
A five-minute walk from Miyanosaka Station. This park is located on the site of Setagaya Castle and was designated a Historic Site by the Tokyo metropolitan government in 1919. Setagaya Castle belonged to the Kirashi clan, a clan connected to Ashikaga clan, which in turn was a branch of the Seiwa Genji clan. It is believed that the Kirashi clan built the castle after being given the land as a reward by Kanto shogun deputy Ashikaga Motouji in 1366. The Kirashi abandoned the castle after being defeated by the Hojo clan in the Siege of Odawara in 1590. Today, portions of the castles stone and earth base and its dry moat still remain.

Tokyo Areas

The setting of countless iconic movie scenes and the inspiration for songs, poetry, and literature worldwide, Tokyo barely requires an introduction. It’s hard for the kaleidoscopic neon lights, wacky pop culture, and some of the world’s tallest structures not to instill excitement in any first-time visitor to Tokyo, whether you’re in the very center of the hustle and bustle in Shinjuku or Shibuya or looking in from the quieter suburbs.
