    This is one of the many sightseeing spots along the Bandai-Azuma Lake Line road, which passes through Nakatsugawa Ravine and more. Not only can you see Lake Hibara, Lake Akimoto and Lake Onogawa, it is also connected to the Lake Line’s highest by a hiking trail. It is extremely popular as a spot to photograph the green leaves of spring and colored leaves of fall.

    Mt. Bandai, with its totally different front and back faces, shows off its rough, volcanic side at Kogane-daira. This massive crater was created in an eruption in 1888, and the harsh landscape still tells a story of the violent steam explosion. It’s 25 minutes by car from Ban-etsu Expressway Bandai Kawahigashi Interchange.

    This park stretches in front of JA Aizu Kitaaizu. A pavilion, walkway and pond have been constructed as a symbolic facility for the development of a firefly sanctuary. Every year between June and July, you can watch the fireflies dancing wildly. Many fireflies fly around on hot and humid nights when it is lightly raining or cloudy and there is no wind. The fireflies begin to glow for an hour or two after sunset and reach their peak. At the end of June, a firefly festival is held in the adjacent plaza and the park is crowded with local residents.

    A four-meter tall talisman deity that protect you from evil. It carries a naginata (pole sword) and a sword, blocking the way with its both arms outstretched. The face takes the appearance of a demon with a glare to prevent evil from entering from the outside. There are three in different locations, at Yakata, Hounokibashi, and Horikoshi, each with a different expression. Their clothes are changed by the preservation society every April.

    高湯温泉に泊まった帰りに立ち寄った。お目当は農産物直売所。福島はくだものの産地だが季節柄あまり数はなく、トマトやキュウリ、葉物野菜が並ぶ。お餅類もたくさん並んでいた。などの加工品メインは農産物直売のようだが、所大型バスも利用可能な広い駐車場があり、トイレや情報コーナーも併設されている。
