Tokyo Chiyoda-ku Hibiyakouen 1-5

This outdoor concert hall in Hibiya Koen (Hibiya Park) in Tokyo’s Chiyoda City is affectionately known as Yaon. The large concert hall is called the holy land of rock music, and is also famous for episodes such as the band CAROL’s last concert before breaking up and Yutaka Ozaki jumping from the stage and breaking a bone. Even now it is used for live concerts by various artists, and it is popular for the production that is distinctive to an outdoor setting and its sense of spaciousness. The small concert hall is Japan’s oldest outdoor concert hall, and is only used for free events.

Kyoto Prefecture Kyoto Ward, Shimogyo-ku, Karasuma-dori Saltwater Road Down in Le Kyoto Station Building

A theater with superb access, located within the station building of JR Kyoto Station. They hold a variety of events, naturally including stage arts in every genre, such as musicals, plays, concerts, and dances, as well as lectures and symposiums. While being a mid-sized theater with 941 seats, its facilities and environment are comparable to a large theater. The space is compact, with the first floor seats going back twenty seven meters, so every seat offers the same majesty from the stage. Check the official homepage for the performance schedule.

京都駅の改札を出てすぐ横にありアクセスは抜群です。建物の古さは否めませんので建物内のロビー奥にあるトイレ等は古さを感じます。劇場入口隣には京料理をランチで食べられるお店もあり早めに来てランチをしてから劇場に入るのもいいなと思いました。

This theater is in Honcho, Yokosuka City. Their large capacity Yokosuka Art Theater is a horseshoe shaped opera house. Their smaller theater, the Yokosuka Bayside Pocket, features a movable stage that can accommodate multimedia performances. They host events in a wide range of genres, including classical and jazz, as well as concert performances by famous singers. The nearest station is the Keikyu Main Line's Shioiri Station.

Ishikawa Pref. Kagashi Yamanakaonsenyakushimachi 1

A performing arts theater adjoining the Kiku no Yu (women’s bath) bathhouse in the center of the Yamanaka Onsen hot spring resort area in Kaga, Ishikawa. Seating 180, the hall is equipped with a Japanese cypress stage, and on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, traditional entertainments such as the Yamanaka-bushi are performed by geisha. The gorgeous accoutrements of the building itself are also a must-see, including pillars lacquered with silver and gold in the tradition of Yamanaka-lacquer, and the lattice door-style walls. The facility also has a tourist information center, coin lockers, and shop, making it a great place to stop by while exploring the area as well.

For foreigners who doesn’t understand the language, don’t worry. You can still enjoy the mesmerising music and the beautiful dance. Just come and enjoy the Geisha/Maiko dancing away to the Japanese...

Tokyo Setagaya-ku Kitazawa 2-10-15

This playhouse dedicated to theater and located in the Kitazawa district of Tokyo’s Setagaya City opened in 1982. Boasting the largest size of all the Honda Gekijo Group’s small theaters in the area, it has 386 seats and a complete set of stage equipment. Its existence has helped drive small theater culture not only in Shimokitazawa but in Tokyo as well, and it is often used for performances of famous theater troupes. It is located about two minutes from Shimokitazawa Station.

下北沢から…徒歩２分で着く、丁度よいキャパの劇場です。今回は、芝居「神の子」を観てきました。今売れっ子の俳優さんの、芝居が近い距離で見られるのも魅力です。本多劇場系列は当日券で通路にも補助椅子置きますが…これはかなり昔からだから、私は良いと思います。「スズナリ」も、昔、松尾さんの一人芝居が面白かったです。この劇場で、大人計画の俳優さんが演じるのが一番楽しいと思います。

Aichi Pref. Nagoyashi Naka-ku Osu 2-19-39

An entertainment hall located in Osu, Naka Ward, Nagoya City. Opened in 1965 and closed in 2014, the theater was reopened after extensive remodeling. Rakugo comedic storytelling performances are conducted here every month from the 1st to the 10th. The hall is also used for other performances such as taishu popular dramatic theater, koten classical theater, music performances, and plays. The theater can also be rented out for holding performances.

2018年11月、芸協落語名古屋寄席の観賞の為、大学生の娘と訪れました。チケットは前売りで2,700円。番組は瀧川鯉斗、三遊亭遊雀、ぴろき、昔昔亭桃太郎、三遊亭とん馬、鏡味正二郎、そして三遊亭小遊三です。14時開場のところ13時頃に到着、そしたらぴろきさんが演芸場の前にフラフラ(失礼)しているではありませんか。早速、快くサインして頂きました。演芸に娘は大笑い。私も楽しみました。

An entertainment hall located close to Ikebukuro Station in Nishiikebukuro, Toshima City, Tokyo. The Ikebukuro Engeijo is one of four theaters in Tokyo which host regular rakugo (traditional comedic storytelling) performances. Established in 1951, the current building was rebuilt in 1993. Open every day from January 1 to December 28 each year, from daytime to the evening the facility conducts performances of rakugo, kodan (storytelling), manzai (comedic duos), acrobatics, and more.

Hyougo Pref. Toyokashi Izushichouyanagi 17-2

This theater is on Prefectural Route 2 in Yanagi, Izushi-cho, Toyooka City. It opened in 1901, staging traditional kabuki, new-school shinpa-geki, and other performing arts until closing its doors in 1964. They reopened in 2008 after major renovations. Today it's the oldest playhouse in the Kinki district, holding performances of kabuki, rakugo, and other plays. It has been designated a Prefectural Important Tangible Cultural Property and welcomes tours of the facility on days when there aren't performances.

出石のフリータイム100分の間に訪問しました。兵庫県指定重要文化財で、近畿最古の芝居小屋です。家老屋敷で割引券をもらったので、団体料金の320円。明治34年に開館し、昭和39年に閉館。平成20年に大改修が行われ、再開館しました。明治の香りのする芝居小屋で、奈落なども見られます。

This Kabuki playhouse overflowing with Edo period atmosphere opened in 1931. It has a luxurious space accommodating up to 1,200 people in an area that once flourished as a coal mine. There are two passages through the audience and a circular stage, and it still putting on performances for the masses. Exiting the underground Nanba Station from exit 26-B, you will see a building resembling an octagonal UFO across the Hanshin Expressway. The Minato-machi River Place is a facility complex built around the Live House, Namba Hatch. Various live events including rock and hip-hop are held in this building. There are also three plazas set up outside for use as outdoor event zones. Mini live events, exhibitions and other events, such as flea markets are also held here. The Dotonbori river flows past the complex, and with its beautiful nighttime views, is a popular date spot.

JR難波駅と道頓堀川の間にある、お寺のお堂のような人目を引く建造物。観光客の動線からは少し外れているが、すぐ北側に遊覧船の乗り場もあり、川の見える階段に座り込んで一休みする人も多い。中にはライブホールが入っているらしい。

Facilities include a 1,400 seat large performance hall, medium sized hall, reception hall, and exhibition room, and the facility is used for concerts, operas, plays, classical Japanese theater, and other performances; as well as parties; and art exhibitions. There is also a rooftop garden and a restaurant.

吹田市文化会館メイシタ―で映画オペラ『オテロ』を見ました。2021/10/2 同月11日には文楽公演『伊達娘恋緋鹿子火の見櫓の段』・『傾城阿波の鳴門巡礼歌の段』がありました。稀によい企画があるので、見逃さないように注意しています。

The AKB48 Theater is a live performance venue created especially for performances by AKB48, a nationally-renowned “idol” pop group, based around the concept of AKB48 being “idols that fans can actually go to see.” The AKB48 Theater is located on the eighth Floor of the Don Quixote Akihabara Building in Kanda, Chiyoda City, Tokyo. The Theater has a capacity of 250 people (including standing audience members); the seats are located very close to the stage. Performances by the different AKB48 teams and by AKB48 trainees are held on a more or less daily basis, and the Theater is very popular with AKB48's enthusiastic fans. Details of performance times etc. can be viewed on the AKB48 Theater official website; please note that people wishing to purchase tickets for a performance need to participate in a ticket lottery in advance.

Ehime Pref. Touonshi Minara 1125

This regional theater first opened in 2006. Works are performed focusing on the history, civilization, traditions, and notable figures of Shikoku and the Seto Island Sea region. The concept behind the theater is to give rise to new musical talents and to show off the culture of Ehime and Shikoku by holding performances across the country. You can enjoy a fully-fledged musical in the hall which seats 450 guests. This is the only theater in Japan to put on independent musical productions year-round. A free shuttle runs to the theater from Matsuyama Station.

たかが地方の劇場とあなどるなかれ。かなり本格的な劇場です。人数の関係か、いつも一人が何役もこなしていますが、それもすごい。劇団四季経験者などめ演じています。かなりおススメです。

This musical theater within walking distance of Hamamatsucho Station, Daimon Station, and Takeshiba Station that is used exclusively by the SHIKI THEATRE COMPANY is divided up into two theaters, Haru (Spring) and Aki (Autumn). Haru has 1,255 seats while Aki has 907 seats, though this changes depending on the program. Haru is used for long-running performances of large-scale foreign musicals, and Aki is characteristic for hosting programs that change every few months such as SHIKI original musicals. Both theaters will suspend operations as of the end of June 2017 for reconstruction work and are scheduled to reopen for public performances in 2020.

The Ishikawa Prefectural Noh Theater (Nogakudo) was opened in Kanazawa City in 1972 as a facility for the preservation, transmission and advancement of Ishikawa Prefecture’s Noh drama tradition; it was Japan’s first independent public Noh theater. The Theater’s Noh stage was relocated here from the Kanazawa Noh Theatre, having originally been constructed in 1932; reflecting its great age, it exudes a subtle sense of calm and style. Noh, Kyogen and Shimai (selected highlights from Noh dramas) performances are held every month except August.

Tokyo Shibuya-ku Udagawachou

This is a theater run by Yoshimoto Kogyo located in the basement floor of the BEAM commercial complex in the Udagawa-cho district of Tokyo's Shibuya City. The Japanese title is read as “Yoshimoto Mugendai Hall.” In addition to frequent use for televisions show recordings and live televised performances, it also serves as a live performance venue that is a gateway for Tokyo's young performers. The distance from the seats in the very first row to the stage is minimal, resulting in an arrangement that allows guests to appreciate the entertainment from close by. There are 218 seats and the lobby also has an area that sells merchandise.

前売り券（1500円）を購入し行きました。1時間の公演、それで1500円は安いと思います。出演者により多少違うとは思いますが、とても面白かったです。ストレス発散にもってこいです。

Tokushima Pref. Mimashi Wakimachinoshiri Nishibun 140-1

This theater featuring a Western-style modern appearance, located in Wakimachi, Mima City, Tokushima Prefecture, was built in 1934. Originally the theater was used as a full-scale playhouse showing Kabuki performances and Rokyoku recitations (stories accompanied by the shamisen). After the war it was used as a movie theater and as a stage for singing performances. Deterioration caused by age forced the theater to close in 1995. However, the theater sparked interest when it was used as a set location for a movie directed by Yoji Yamada which lead to it being designated a cultural property of the town and was restored to the condition of the early Showa period. It also has a revolving stage as well as a basement and is now open to the public as a tourist attraction.

The Yasugi-bushi Entertainment Hall is an exhibition hall for Yasugi-bushi, a folk song adored all across the country, as well as an arts theater for live performance in the hall with gallery seats. There is also a souvenir shop with notable Yasugi products and a restaurant that offers loach cuisine, so there are plenty of ways to enjoy this location. Approximately 15 minutes by car via the Yasugi Interchange on the San-in Expressway.
