- This racecourse in Obihiro City, Hokkaido is the only racecourse in the world where regular ban’ei races are held. Ban’ei horse racing is a race where horses compete against each other by pulling heavy weighted iron sleds. Horses are raced along a 200 meter long track over two slopes with the jockey riding on top of the sled while controlling the power and direction of the horse. At the racecourse you can find shops, a museum about horses, and a petting zoo where you can meet some of the animals. It’s a nice place to bring the children. They also conduct tours around the stables and other areas at extra charge.

- Nakayama Racecourse is located on Prefectural Route 180 in the Kosaku district of Funabashi City. Japan Racing Association (JRA) horse-races are held here on a regular basis, including G1 (Grade 1) races such as the Satsuki Sho (Satsuki Prize) in spring and the Arima Kinen (Arima Memorial Prize) towards the end of the year. On days when races are not being held at Nakayama Racecourse, visitors can buy betting slips for races held at other racecourses under the Parc-WINZ system, and watch the races on large display screens (there is free admission on these days).

- This racecourse is located in Shikita, Magome-cho, Toyoake City. Construction of the course was completed, and the first Chukyo horserace was held in 1953. It underwent a major renovation in 2012, and in addition to holding the Takamatsunomiya Kinen in March and the Champions Cup GI races in December, the amusement park inside the racecourse grounds was made free on days other than event days.

- This track hosts one of the historic Hokkaido summer events, the Hokkaido Series. Thoroughly built to enjoy races from all vantage points, there is terrace seating from which one can look down on the full track, and turf-side seats where one can physically feel the thunder of the horses go by. At the park one can also enjoy a horse pulled wagon ride and other events to interact with horses. The park is equipped with a nursing room and baby beds, so that a family can enjoy the park even on days when there is no race. During the Saturdays and Sundays when the races are going on, there is a free courtesy bus leaving from the JR Soen Station and the Nijuyonken Station of the Tozai subway line.

市内からタクシーで2000円弱、娘が行くと言うので競馬？？雪で競馬はお休みかと思いましたが場外の競馬を楽しむ人が数百人-数千人いました。行った日は日曜日で開催されている各地の競馬の馬券を買っているようでした。競馬場の正面の大きなスクリーンを見ながら皆さんたのしんでいました。入場料はいりませんでした。

- This race track for horse racing operated by the Japan Racing Association and located in the Hiyoshi-cho district of Tokyo’s Fuchu City opened in 1933. It is famous for hosting a variety of large races such as the Japan Derby and Japan Cup. Inside the facility is a food court and shop carrying horse-racing merchandise, and visitors can enjoy shopping and eating or drinking here before or after a race. Also on the premises are the JRA Racing Museum, a Riding Center where visitors can touch the horses, a place to experience horse-drawn carriage rides, a park with playground equipment and a Japanese garden.

- Kojima Boat Racing is a motorboat racing course located along Prefectural Route 21 in Motohama-cho, Kojima, in the city of Kurashiki. It fronts on the Inland Sea, and it is unusual in the degree to which the rising and falling tides affect the water’s surface. The racing course holds family-centered events, such as Boat Kids Park.

- This training facility for racehorses is located in Mikoma, Miho Village, Inashiki County. As a focal point for the JRA (Japan Central Racing Association) in eastern Japan, many thoroughbred horses are trained here every day. On the 4th floor of the Public Information Center, the Turf Plaza, is open on Central horseracing days, (usually weekends) and public holidays on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Visitors can see the Southern Race Track and stables, as well as the G1 prize-winning panels belonging to Miho, their replica numbers and so on. There is also the possibility of seeing horses while they are training, depending on the season and time of day.

2020年の元日に訪問しました。元日開催だけあり、かなりの混雑ぶりでした。大井に比べギャンブルに本気の人（控えめな表現）が多く、鉄火場のatmosphereを色濃く感じます。食べ物がおいしいのも良いですね。

オグリキャップが出た競馬場として有名です。基本的には地方競馬ではっきり言って客の入りはよくありません。木曽川堤防に当たる道路は桜がきれいで、競走馬横断注意という標識があったりして、競馬とは違う見どころもあります。

多磨霊園駅付近に競艇行きのバスが出ているが平日朝から小汚い爺共が歩きたばこはもちろん、缶ビールか何かを片手にマスクもなしで狭い道を塞ぐようにのろのろ歩き。迷惑でしかない。吸い殻は落ちまくりだし。更にシルバー人材だかのバス誘導の爺さん達も周囲の店舗に寄りかかり大声で話しているし3人も不要。通行の邪魔。通勤時に暇な共のためのバス駐車の度に通行を妨げられるのが非常に腹立たしいのですべて廃止してほしい。
