Guide to JR Line (Shinkansen and Limited Express) Ticket Booking Service (Cancellation, changes, and refunds for applications)

About cancellation after ticket application

  • This service does not accommodate cancellations or refunds for ticket applications post-submission

  • Please note that paper tickets (reserved seat limited express tickets and reserved seat green tickets issued before the departure time, non-reserved seat limited express tickets and boarding tickets within the validity period) can be refunded at a JR station counter. In this case, the refund amount will be the amount calculated by subtracting the refund fee (see table below) from the price displayed on the ticket.

Changing ticket details after applying for a ticket

  • This service does not accept procedures for changing the contents of the ticket details (such as date, time, route, or train)

  • In addition, paper tickets (reserved seat limited express tickets, reserved seat green tickets, non-reserved seat limited express tickets, boarding tickets within the validity period) issued in paper form can only be used once at a JR station counter for the same type of tickets. You can change your ticket without a fee. (There may be a difference in price depending on the changes)

  • Please note that reserved seat limited express tickets and reserved seat green tickets cannot be changed after the specified train departure time.

  • If you have a reserved seat express ticket and miss your designated train, you can use a non-reserved seat in an ordinary car on the following train with the same name on the same day. If the train has reserved seats, you will only be able to use standing seats. (You can use vacant seats on some limited express trains)
