Lily Field Park is a park where a million Easter lilies, the flower which is the emblem of Ie Island, proudly bloom. Every year, the “Ie Island Lily Festival” is held to coincide with the flowering period, and many tourists turn out for it. The beautiful scenery weaved with white lilies and cobalt blue ocean can be enjoyed.

A must go-to if one is going to Ie Island - the Lily Festival is a must. Beautiful scenery by the coast amidst a sea of liies of all colors. One should visit the park in late April and early May...

Historic Site Shimamuraya Sightseeing Park is a facility built on the site of the Shimamuraya where “Iejima Handuguwa”, one of the top three tragic stories in Okinawa, was set. It is a story about the tragic love of a beautiful girl, Handuguwa and her bronze statue standing inside the park is impressive. A folk museum inside the park exhibits farming and fishing tools to which islanders have applied innovation and continual improvements for their lives.

Okinawa Areas

around-area-map

Let go of your image of a busy, ordered Japan and replace it with crystal-clear waters, white sand beaches, and relaxing folk music: You’ve arrived in Okinawa. A world away from the high intensity of Tokyo, Okinawans appear to live a laid-back beach life on this paradisiacal tropical island that lies in the middle of the East China Sea almost 1,000 kilometers south of mainland Japan’s most southern tip. Home to a spattering of islands, prepare yourself to discover underwater caves, star-shaped sand, and an island culture sometimes unrecognizable from mainland Japan.
