    Kukuya Syunsui is located near to the front gate of Shinshu Zenkoji Temple and sells Shinshu cakes and confections. The shop sells various goods in collaboration with a hand towel shop, Kamawanu, and they also have Zenkoji Temple ‘Yawataya Isogoro’ peppers, popular as souvenirs from Shinshu. Additionally, they sell Shinshu miso, Shinshu fruit jam, honey, and Western and Japanese style confectionery among other things. The shop has a full take-out menu and their soba crepes and soba galettes can only be tasted here. They also have limitedly available foods on the menu too.

    This shop sells Western-style sweets made with in-season fruits cultivated and harvested in Shinshu. There are always 15 varieties of beautiful cakes decorating the showcase. A nice selection of tarts evokes the seasons, with Shinshu apricot tart or Shinshu black fig tart. As for chocolates, the bon bon chocolate is recommended. The cacao beans are the finest choice beans from French company Pralus. There is also an eat-in area.

    The “Tea house Izumiya” in Zenkoji Nakamise-dori is a shop where you can eat “Nozawana (cole) soft serve ice cream” which is dried nozawana ground into a powder and mixed with rich vanilla ice cream. There is a sunken hearth furnace inside the shop, and guests can enjoy coffee, tea, and green tea (some with buns or chestnut kanoko sweets) in the calm atmosphere unique to the old long-established store, serving guests continuously since 1970. It is approximately a 10-minute walk from Zenkojishita Station on the Nagano Electric Railway Nagano Line.
