    "This malt whiskey distillery, also known as the ""Forest Distillery"", is located in the foothills of the Southern Alps approximately 20 minutes by car from Kobuchizawa Interchange on the Chuo Expressway. On the grounds is the ""Whiskey Museum"" where visitors can learn about the history of the birth of the single malt whiskey ""Hakushu"", and the worldwide culture of whiskey. There is also a shop that offers goods limited to the distillery, as well as restaurants and bars featuring seasonal dishes made from local produce. There is no charge for admission but reservations (at least one day in advance) are required. A factory tour (including tasting) is also available (fees apply)."

    This scenic terrace is located at the peak of Sun Meadows Kiyosato, the highest place in the Kiyosato area. The amazing views that it offers from an altitude of 1,900 meters are truly exhilarating. The terrace's luxurious and spacious sofas and tables makes their cafe's parfaits, gelatos, freshly-made coffee, and smoothies even more delicious.

    A roadside station in Hokuto City, Yamanashi Prefecture. Located at the southern foot of Mt. Yatsugatake, it has complete facilities, including a wholesaler that sells fresh agricultural products harvested locally. It also has a cafe, a foot bath, and you can even try making soba. Plenty of restaurant options too-one that uses local, in-season ingredients, a Chinese restaurant serving Cantonese cuisine and more. A great spot for drivers to rest a bit.

    A roadside station in Hokuto City, Yamanashi Prefecture. Located at the hiking entrance to Mt. Kaikomagatake, it provides tourist information, sells fresh vegetables, fresh fruit, and rice, as well as an array of specialty goods cultivated with Hakushu's meisui water. You can enjoy a meal at the restaurant which makes good use of in-season ingredients. Meisui water springs up near the entrance. You can pump it and take some home if you'd like.

    A place where you can fully enjoy Heidi, Girl of the Alps and Heidi's village in a natural setting, Heidi's Village (old Yamanashi Prefectural Flower Center) is certainly worth a look. It has a large four-meter diorama of Dorfli village looking over Frankfurt and a recreation of Alm-Onji's mountain cabin, where you can see a straw bed and his kitchen. Also known for its flowers, flowers here bloom beautifully each season-and you can find the longest rose corridor in Japan.

    This is an outlet mall containing over 60 stores located on a large plot of land at an elevation of 1,000 meters in Kobuchizawa Town, Hokuto City, Yamanashi Prefecture. There is a wide variety of select shops for items including sports, outdoor goods, miscellaneous goods and souvenirs, as well as top fashion brands including Beams, United Arrows, and Edwin. One can also enjoy tasty dishes using local ingredients at the mall restaurants. Surrounded by the nature of Mt. Yatsugatake with a dog run as well, it is a nice spot to relax and take a quiet walk while shopping.

    This is a well-established Japanese sweets shop boasting over 100 years of history, located in a corner of Daigaharajuku on the Koshu-kaido Road. The Japanese sweets use homemade slowly cooked bean paste. The beans, which are cultivated with limited pesticide from restricted farmers, are produced in Tokachi, Hokkaido and are cooked slowly with the water of Hakushu, selected as one of the 100 best waters. The aroma and moderate sweetness is exquisite with a refreshing after taste. Every summer (from the beginning of June until the end of September), on Saturdays and Sundays, excluding holidays, they offer a limited number of simple sweets “mizushingen mochi” using famous Hakushu water which is also used in the red bean paste, set with agar.

There is a garden designed by Paul Smither, walking paths and a merry-go-round for taking a leisurely tour with children. They also have plenty of their own local delicacies including local craft beer and beef curry. There are various events held in the village throughout the year.

    This roadside station is located in Nirasaki City, Yamanashi Prefecture. In addition to disseminating tourist information, the station's shopping area offers fresh, locally-harvested fruits and vegetables, and handmade products and souvenirs. There is also a food court offering cuisine made with local ingredients. Each October, the station holds a Butajiru Matsuri (pork soup festival) where visitors can enjoy hot pork soup. Every spring, it holds a peach blossom festival.

    Akeno Sunflower Field features 600,000 sunflowers in bloom against a backdrop of Mt. Fuji, the Southern Alps, and the Yatsugatake Mountain Range. The experience of seeing one's entire surroundings covered in a brilliant yellow is indescribable. The city of Hokuto holds it Hokuto Akeno Sunflower Festival when the sunflowers are in full bloom. Activities during the festival include a sunflower field maze, a workshop in making handmade sunflower paper, a photo contest, and a farmers' market that sells local farm products.

    This mountain pass is located at the southern tip of the three peaks of Ho-o Sanzan, the vanguard of the Southern Japan Alps. The route is also easily understood and can be climbed in an hour, making it a popular destination for mountain climbing with the whole family. Its great location gives the pass a head-on view of the three peaks of Shirane sanzan.

Covered with forests and located on banks of the Ojira River, it offers experiential programs in rainbow trout hand catching and insect hunting, a barbecue area, a hot spring bathhouse, a campground, and other outdoor activities. There is even a waterslide that makes use of the waterfall on the Ojira River. This park is popular with all ages, thanks to activities such as drawing natural Hakushu Water and taking walks in the woods.

There are many activities you can try, like making pizza in a drum, baking a whole chicken in a Dutch oven, and picking corn. There are seasonal activities, too, so be sure to check and make a reservation in advance.

    You can auto camp from early March to the next January 3 at Kiyosato Okanokouen Auto Camp, which features three choices-cabin, site with electrical outlets, site with no outlets-and also a place for day-trip barbeques. You can rent camping equipment if you make a reservation in advance, so even novice campers can enjoy the site.

    A takeout shop and café space located on the grounds of the Seisen-Ryo lodging facility in the Kiyosato Highland in Takane-cho, Hokuto City, Yamanashi Prefecture. Seisen-Ryo Ice Cream, made with Jersey cow milk and Yatsugatake water is a famed Kiyosato specialty; when in season, there’s always a long line of customers waiting to buy some. The shop also sells organic Jersey cow milk, hot dogs, and organic coffee, as well as popular fresh juices in summer. Refreshing pastureland spreads out before the terrace area, as well as a sweeping view of the Akaishi Mountains and Mt. Yatsugatake.

The water type is hypotonic high temperature springs, and is believed to be effective in treating cut wounds and burns, chronic dermatitis, nerve pain and more. Next to the entrance there is a free foot bath.
