Nicknamed the ""Turtle Center,"" the facility's activities including protecting sick and injured sea turtles, and incubating sea turtle eggs and releasing the hatchlings into the ocean. The facility has museum and rearing areas; in the museum area, you can learn about the history of Ogasawara and sea turtles around the world through photos and informational panels. The facility also holds sea turtle classes for this who want to deepen their understanding of these marine creatures. Some 250 to 300 sea turtles are kept in the rearing area, and here visitors can feed sea turtles and take pictures holding baby turtles."
