    A museum dedicated to the history of natural gas located in the city of Kodaira. The museum presents the history of the Tokyo Gas company as well as how natural gas is involved in our everyday lives. The museum's two brick exhibition buildings were originally built by Tokyo Gas in the Meiji period to serve as company offices and were specially moved here and restored to house the museum. The museum also contains a huge collection of natural gas-related items, including some 1,200 examples of natural gas equipment dating all the way back to the Meiji period, 400 Meiji color prints, historic Tokyo Gas advertisements, and more. The museum also serves as a local cultural space and periodically holds special Meiji color print exhibitions, sketch exhibitions, concerts, family events, and more.

    都道２２６号沿い。入館料無料。無料駐車場も確保されています。ハンセン病問題に対する正しい知識の普及啓発による偏見・差別の解消及び患者・元患者とその家族の名誉回復を図ることを目的にハンセン病回復者が自ら設立した博物館。入口で記帳を求められます。常設展示の解説シートが充実。館内撮影禁止。改めて松本清張氏の名作に触れたくなります。

    市役所の向かいにある施設です。見た目は周辺の官庁ビルと変わりありませんが、中の雰囲気は他とはやや違ってました。

    酒饅頭100円を買ってすぐに 東村山ふるさと歴史館がありました。 東村山市にしてはずいぶん立派な建物です。 無料だそうです。 が入ればやはり2-30分かかるので先を急ぐことにしました。 ここに後で行く板碑の資料を展示しているとのことでした。

    都道(県道)５５号所沢武蔵村山立川線沿い。都で唯一「鉄道が通らない市」として知られている武蔵村山市の公共施設につき、駐車場は完備。入館料無料ですか、館内「写真・動画撮影禁止」の貼り紙が目立ちます。令和４年度特別展「流行り病と武蔵村山」はウィズ・アフターを見据えた今日的な取組を紹介と見所があります。
