A history museum dedicated to the samurai Date Masamune. The museum's entrance, modeled after the Date clan crest, draws the eye. One of the museum's biggest draws is its lifelike wax models depicting epic moments from Date Masamune's life. Amazingly, Masamune's face as it appears in the museum's exhibits was reconstructed based on the remains of the samurai exhumed during work to rebuild the Date clan mausoleum. Visitors can also try on samurai armor and take a commemorative photo. In the museum cafe, you can enjoy sweets made with zunda mashed boiled green soybeans or a Masamune Parfait topped with a crescent moon-shaped cookie.

If you are a Date Masamune fan then you must visit I loved Sengoku Basara and this is the place to visit to learn his life plus aftermath There are also statues that are important to people of...

The origin of kokeshi wooden dolls is said to have been in Naruko towards the end of the Edo period (1804–1830) when they were made as hot spring souvenirs by woodworkers who carved bowls and trays and this is said to be the oldest production area for these dolls. The museum opened in 1975. It exhibits kokeshi offered up for the National Kokeshi Festival, presents the procedure for making the dolls, demonstrates the spinning lathe and has a wholesale shop that sells the highest number of kokeshi dolls in Naruko. It is around six minutes by car from JR Naruko Onsen Station.

Was hoping to see more of kokeshi doll in this museum, however, all the descriptions are in Japanese. Overall, the museum looks dated. It was cold inside the museum and only 3 rooms of display...

A museum which conducts a variety of special exhibitions throughout the year. The structure, an old fashioned Japanese estate and kura warehouse, once belonged to Saito Risuke, a wealthy merchant which traded in a wide array of goods from the late Edo period to the early Showa period. The residence and personal effects of Saito were donated to the town, and the town government turned the facility into a museum open to the general public. In 2010, the facility was designated a National Tangible Cultural Property. The museum displays period artwork and also holds exhibits in line with key events such as the Sairi no Hina Matsuri doll festival, the Boy's Day celebration, and the New Year's Day of Sairi. In addition, the museum periodically holds workshops on making silk washi paper and other crafts.

A history museum located in the Tome-cho neighborhood of Tome City, known as Miyagi Prefecture's Meiji Village due to its many historical buildings. Inside, real desks and chairs from the school's heyday as well as life-sized mannequins show what schooling looked like at the time.
