A convention center capable of hosting domestic and international trade fairs, product fairs, exhibitions, events, and meetings. There’s always a host of fun programs being conducted at Makuhari Messe. In addition to 11 exhibition halls, there’s also numerous conference rooms, restaurants, and other facilities; the size of the structure will astound you. The shortest access routes for international exhibition halls 1-8 and 9-11, the Makuhari Event Hall, and the international conference rooms all differ, so be sure to check where the event you’re interested in is before heading out.

Makuhari Messe looked a little shabby compared to Tokyo Big Site. The site was big enough but it looked so much outdated.

Chiba-jinja Shrine is the main shrine of the bodhisattva Myoken, who offers protection for people who are of ages considerably considered unlucky. Myoken, the principal god enshrined here, is the spirit of the North Star, the Pole Star positioned at the center of the heavens, and he shares the shrine with the gods Futsu and Yamato Takeru no Mikoto. This shrine is said to be efficacious against bad luck during two types of unlucky ages, and it is a favorite place for people to pray for good luck or to celebrate special events in their lives.

This temple is located at Nakayama2-Chome, Ichikawa City. This temple was established by combining the Hokkeji and Honmyoji temples during the Kamakura period. The shrine of the founder within the premises is built in a rare hiyoku-irimoya construction style and is designated a national important cultural property. The collection at Chiba City Museum of Art focuses on works by artists with a close connection to the Boso Peninsula and paintings of scenes from the Boso Peninsula. Its collection includes paintings from the Edo period (1603?1868), woodblock prints from the Edo through early Showa periods (1926?1989), and Japanese and Western modern art. It has no permanent exhibits but instead sponsors rotating exhibitions and exhibitions of its holdings, lectures, and workshops. The museum is housed in the remodeled and restored Chiba branch of Kawasaki Bank and shares the building with the ward office of Chuo-ku. There is also a restaurant and a library in the building.

Not a grand gallery but provide a good glimpse of works from local artists. The set up is nice and is worth a visit if you are in the area. The very friendly atmosphere made me feeling welcome...

This Shinto shrine is three minutes on foot from the Keisei Main Line's Daijingushita Station and 15 minutes on foot from Funabashi Station on the JR Sobu Line. It was founded when Yamato Takeru-no-Mikoto enshrined Amaterasu Sume Omikami there for worship after suppressing Japan's eastern regions. It is the largest and oldest shrine in the Funabashi region. Sumo wrestling takes place at its main annual festival on October 20 and has a history of more than 400-years. It's even recorded the shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu watched Sumo bouts here.

This museum of science is located along the Togane-kaido Street in the center of Chuo Ward, Chiba City, just a short six-minute walk from Chiba-Chuo Station. It features a planetarium and an area with exhibits. The exhibit area is divided into three sections and offers interactive display each such as: “Geo Town” —where you can learn about the earth’s environment and space, “Techno Town” —where you can learn about science and technology in our daily lives, and “Wonder Town” —where you can learn about sound, light, and numbers.

This museum's permanent exhibit starts with the outdoor Urayasu Town display and moves indoors to themed exhibition rooms of Umiokakeru, and Umitotomoni, introducing the life of the fishing village and its relationship with the ocean when it was at its peak. This Shinto shrine was founded at the end of the 9th century, branching off from Iwashimizu Hachimangu Shrine on the order of Emperor Uda. It honors Emperor Ojin, Empress Jingu, and Tamayorihime-no-Mikoto. Worshiping there is said to ward off misfortune and invite good luck, help with smooth childbirth, provide a safe childhood, and so on. A sacred ginkgo tree on the grounds known as the Senbon Icho is estimated to be 1,200 years old and is a National Natural Monument.

"This Shinto shrine is said to have been built by decree of the Emperor Saga between 810 and 823. It was a popular place of worship as it was the guardian shrine of the area's 23 villages. Compiled in the year 905, the Engi-shiki Jinmyo-cho lists it as Samukawa-jinja Shrine, one of the two leading sanctuaries in Chiba County, but the bell installed in 1303 has an insignia reading ""Ninomiya,"" so some think its name was bestowed in the Kamakura period. It's an important venue for the Shimosa Miyama Seven-Year Festival, a Chiba Prefecture Intangible Folk Cultural Property. Portable sanctuaries from the area shrines converge on the grounds during the Anzan Orei Taisai Festival."

Designed in three stories, one above ground, two below, the layered galleries are long corridors, with a section of the building appearing to float in air. Kasori Shell Mounds Museum is located inside Kasori Shell Mounds Jomon Site Park. Kasori Shell Mound is Japan's largest shell mound from the Jomon period (10000 B.C.E.?300 B.C.E.) and has been designated a Special Historic Site of Japan. The museum's permanent exhibits are centered around earthenware and stone implements excavated from the mound. Visitors can deepen their knowledge of the characteristics of Jomon period shell mounds and the history of research about them. "Natural History Museum and Institute, Chiba, is located in Aobanomori Park. Its permanent exhibit, organized around the theme of ""Nature and Humans of the Boso Peninsula,"" is composed of three parts: ""Boso Nature Magazine,"" ""The History of Boso,"" and ""Connections between Nature and Humans."" The exhibits include diorama replicas of natural environments in Boso, fossils, live small animals, and duplicates of cultural artifacts. All of these help visitors learn about the natural environment and history of the Boso Peninsula. "Chiba Prefectural Museum of Art is located in Chiba Port Park. Its collection is centered on artists who have a connection with Chiba Prefecture and materials related to them. This temple is located at Ono-machi3-Chome Ichikawa City. It was erected by Saint Nichiin in 1361. Today, services are performed for the restful repose of the deceased, deceased pets, dolls, and various other prayer vigils. It also hosts training experiences, and dating services and temple cinema events. A shrine for Ono Temmangu is also on the temple grounds that also enshrines SugawaraMichizane and Kato Kiyomasa.

JR武蔵野線の市川大野駅近くにあるお寺です。境内は広くないですが、見るべきものが多く、見どころが凝縮されていると感じました。一番ユニークに感じたのが「縁切りダーツ」で、作法が記されているのが面白かったです。

建物はとても美しい洋館です。しかし展示されている収蔵品、特に絵画はほとんどが複製品で、特段ここまで足を運ぶ価値は感じられない。これだけ立派な箱モノを建造する費用の一部ででも、コレクションの充実を図ることが検討されなかったのか・・・、少々残念に思いました。

Senyoji Temple is the 29th of 33 temples sacred to the bodhisattva Kannon in the Bando (Kanto) region. Founded in 709 by the monk Gyoki, it is the oldest temple in Chiba City. Its main image is that of the Eleven-Headed Kannon. On the temple grounds is an ancient gingko tree, 27 meters tall and 10 meters around, which is said to have been planted at the time the temple was founded. This famous tree has been designated as a Prefectural Natural Monument under the name of Senyoji Temple Ginkgo.
