"The popular name for Daifukuji Temple is ""Gake Kannon"" (""Cliff Kannon""). Located in Funakata in the city of Tateyama, it was founded by the Nara period (eighth century) monk Gyoki, who was on a walking pilgrimage of the eastern provinces. It is said that he carved an image of Eleven-headed Kannon into the cliff face of Mt. Funakata as a way of praying for safety on the seas and bountiful fishing for the local fishermen. A temple devoted to Kannon is built in front of the image to guard it, and from inside, visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of Tateyama Bay and Izu Oshima Island."

A Shinto shrine at Mt. Mitarashi honors the deity Amenohirinome-no-Mikoto. Worshiping there is thought to offer all sorts of benefits, like easing childbirth, providing safety at sea or on the road, good fishing, bountiful harvests, and warding off ill-fortune in general. After Minamoto no Yoritomo was defeated at the Battle of Ishibashiyama, he stopped there to worship. Since he prayed for better fortune for his clan, the shrine's also known for restoration and revival. There's a view of the Pacific Ocean and Mt. Fuji from the precincts.

This is a shrine in Minamiasai, Chikura-cho, Minamiboso City. As the history of the shrine is very old, there is even a description of the shrine in the Nihon-shoki (the oldest chronicles of Japan). Also, it is known as the only shrine in Japan that is dedicated to the god of cooking and it gathers faith from many people in the food industry. A “Knife Ceremony” takes place annually in May, October and November, where a fish is prepared using just a knife and chopsticks and dedicated to the god.

This Buddhist temple was founded some 1,400 years ago by the ascetic En no Ozunu (Gyoja). The temple later underwent an expansion thanks to donations from famed shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu and daimyo lord Satomi Yoshiyasu, and many monks came here to train and study. The temple was completely destroyed twice by fires and the current temple is believed to have been rebuilt in 1855. The temple's grounds are a renowned destination for fall foliage viewing and, during the temple's autumn leaves festival in November, many tourists make their way here.

The best time to go is in fall, especially in late November to December. The foliage is amazing and brings many visitors each year. If you go during the festival, you can get warm soup or be entered...

    Chiba Minamiboso-shi Wadacho Hanasono
"This monument stands amidst a copse of pines on Hanazono Beach. The large stone monument is inscribed with the lyrics to ""Hamachidori,"" a song created by lyricist Meishu Kashima, who was active during the Taisho period (1912-1926). Kashima had a daughter and frequently visited the then-Wada City with her. Later, they moved here so she could recuperate from illness. Unfortunately, however, her condition did not improve and she eventually passed away. It is believed Kashima wrote ""Hamachidori"" to mourn her passing."
