    A strawberry farm situated along Prefectural Route 343 in Saido, Moroyama Town, Iruma County. The farm grows its strawberries on raised platforms and incorporates universal design principles. The farm also offers classes teaching how to make strawberry jam, strawberry daifuku rice cakes, strawberry juice, and strawberry cake by hand. An advance reservation is required for strawberry picking as well as the farm's classes.
  • Omurasaki no mori, Cho no sato Park

    This nature park is located on a river terrace pn the left bank of Toki River. Designed on the idea of a biotope, it makes use of the original landscape with varied terrain including mixed forest and open meadows for the benefit of the creatures living there. The park is home to about 60 species of butterflies, including the omurasaki, the national butterfly of Japan. To help make it easier to spot them, greenery favored by their larvae as feed has been preserved in some places, as well as the flowers preferred by adults. Along with the huge variety of dragon flies at the clear Toki River and a nearby firefly viewing area, there are lots of insects to see in the summer.

    This fruit orchard is in Fujimi City, Saitama Prefecture. Located in the residential area near Fujimino Station, this strawberry farm allows you to pick your own strawberries. The elevated table growing area allows strollers and wheelchairs to move freely over the flat floor. Since they grow on two levels, children have easy access to the lower berries as well. The reception area also sells strawberries to take home.

    A historical park located in an area connected to Ota Dokan, a samurai warrior famed for his waka poetry. The park is home to some 3,000 Japanese yellow roses as well as a replica old-fashioned waterwheel, recreating the scenery said to have inspired Dokan and make him famous for his artistic as well as military talents. The best time to see the Japanese yellow roses is from April to May, during which time they bloom in beautiful profusion.

  • Tokorozawa Vineyard

    Saitama Tokorozawa-shi Kamegaya 470-1
    A tourist vineyard that offers grape picking and direct sales of fruit. They offer nearly 10 varieties of grapes including Kyoho grapes and Shine Muscat grapes. Grape picking is open from early August to late September with different varieties available depending on time. There's a shop at the entrance to the vineyard which sells whichever grapes are in season as well as grape products and fresh vegetables picked that morning. You check in for grape picking at the shop.

    A farm dedicated to growing delicious grapes in mineral rich terroir with organic fertilizers. They raise a wide variety of grapes from old favorites to new breeds. You can enjoy grape picking from mid-August to late September. Starting in mid-September you can also harvest chestnuts until whenever all the chestnuts are gone.

    An orchard covering 1.2 hectares in Kotesashi, Tokorozawa. It opened as a Japanese plum orchard in 1974 and by 1977 had become a fun spot to also hunt for grapes, chestnuts, Japanese pears, and other produce. The plums are in season from mid to late July, the grapes from early August to late September, and the pears come into season in late September to early October.
  • Koizumi Vineyard

    After researching the cultivation of seedless watermelons from 1955-1960 they took an interest in Kyoho grapes, and started this vineyard with planting ten different varieties of grapes, primarily Kyoho, Campbell and others. In present times they grow 15 different varieties of grapes amongst which about seven are available for picking. They are in season from mid-August to mid-September.

    This park is located in Oya, Higashi-Matsuyama City. The concept is a “Theme Park for Connecting with Agriculture,” and there is a cafe, playground equipment and facilities where you can experience picking strawberries and harvesting vegetables. Strawberry picking is carried out between December and around May.
  • Mt. Hiwada Hiking Course

    This hiking course is centered on Mt. Hiwada in Hidaka City. As you can begin or end at the nearby Koma, Musashi-Yokote, Higashi-Agano, or Moro train stations, starting with the 305-meter tall Mt. Hiwada, you can follow the Mt. Monomi, Gojo Falls or Kamakita Lake courses which are easy for beginner hikers to enjoy.

    This walking path is located in Takinoiri, Moroyama Town, Iruma County. On the way to Katsuragi Kannon along the upper part of the Katsuragi River, you can see yuzu citrus trees, a specialty of Moroyama, growing and ripening from summer through winter. Hydrangeas also bloom starting from late June.

You can observe nature while walking along the promenade.

    This park is located along Kaikan-dori Street in Toyooka 3-chome, Iruma City. Iruma Sports Park and the Iruma Civic Center are also adjacent to it.

    This hiking course in Hanno City runs for about 9.5 kilometers from Agano Station in Sakaishi-machibun to Kodono bus stop along Prefectural Route 53 in Kaminaguri. You can visit the ancient temples that are part of the Musashino 33 Kannon Pilgrimage such as Hokoji Temple, Nenogongen Temple and Takedera Temple.

    This hiking course in Hanno City runs for about 14.5 kilometers from Agano Station in Sakaishi-machibun to Shomaru Station in Sakamoto. With its many ups and downs, the course is suitable for strong walkers, as it crosses the likes of Mt. Izugatake, Amamezasu Pass, Mt. Takahata, Mt. Komi, Mt. Kodaka and Shomaru Pass.

    This 11-kilometer hiking course stretches from Mt. Tenranzan in Hanno City to Lake Kamakita in Moroyama Town, Iruma County. The course passes through Koma Pass, Mt. Hiwada, Mt. Takasasu, Mt. Monomi and Kitamuki-jizo stone statue. Kinchakuda, which is along the route, is known for its clusters of red spider lilies.
  • Musashi-Kyuryo National Government Park Cycling Course

    This cycling course is located in Musashi Kyuryo National Forest Park in the Yamata, Namegawa Town, Hiki County. It is maintained over a total length of about 17 kilometers in a vast site covering 65 Tokyo Domes, and you can enjoy cycling on a course rich in nature with moderate ups and downs. Bicycles can be rented at the cycling center in the north exit area of the park.

    This botanical garden is located in Musashi Kyuryo National Forest Park in the Yamata, Namegawa Town, Hiki County. It is located in the center of a vast site that is 65 times the area of Tokyo Dome. Herb gardens, border flower beds, maple gardens, etc. are maintained in an area that covers about 450,000 square meters, and various plants can be seen in each season. The exhibition building has a botanical shop that sells souvenirs, coffee and cake sets.
