    Mahoroba Onsen Takahata-machi Taiyokan is a community hot spring facility that doubles as the JR Takahata Station. Its distinctive pointed roofs are inspired by the hometown of fairy tale author Hirosuke Hamada, and is illuminated in the evening. The alkaline simple spring is said to be effective against nerve pain and exhaustion. In addition to the host spring facility, the building contains a restaurant and a shop that is a convenient place for buying souvenirs. Other convenient services for visitors as a base for tourism include a free parking lot, a tourist information center, and bicycle rental.

It is equipped with a variety of baths, including wide indoor baths offer a view of natural scenery you can enjoy lying down, and black granite outdoor baths. Their steam sand bath, using extremely pure crystal sand, is quite popular.

    入浴料は非常に手頃。とてもきれいな温泉で、とにかく露天風呂から見える田園風景と山々が最高。休憩場所は広くない。地元の方との交流も楽しめる。とてもおすすめしたい！

Part of the chain Gokurakuyu, the largest by number in Japan, this location lets you enjoy a luxurious bath while gazing at the sky from stone outdoor baths, or look out the wide windows of the indoor baths. There are also jet baths, vibra-baths, and two types of sauna. They hold events like Bath Day and Morning Bath Day when the fees are highly discounted.

    GWなので、アパートのシャワーではなく温泉に入りたく訪問しました。 極楽の湯グループとはしりませんでしたがのぼりが沢山立っていました。 GWなので、土日休日料金で大人530円でした。 帰省なのか、年配の方と親子のかたがたが結構いました。 脱衣所は少々混雑してましたが、洗い場は混雑してませんでした。 サウナやヌルめの浴槽や露天風呂が良かったです。

    About 20 minutes by car from the center of Yonezawa City, this day-use hot spring is in Onogawa Onsen, and is said to have been founded by one of the poets of the Manyo, Onono Komachi, and has a record of how Date Masamune's wounds were healed by these waters. It is one of the three community run bathing facilities, and is located in the center of the hot springs district. Although the bath is of simple natural spring water, it is abundant in radium, which is said to be beneficial for the skin, making it popular with women. The waters are a sulfur-containing sodium calcium chloride mineral springs. They are said to be beneficial for neuralgia, muscle aches, women's and skin disorders, and chronic digestion problems.

    This hot spring district is located in the middle of a city, a rarity among the hot springs of Yamagata Prefecture; its history stretches back more than 920 years. The district is dotted with 14 hot spring hotels and four public bathhouses, and one of its most notable characteristics is the number of convenience stores and restaurants located close by. Today, this hot spring district in the heart of Nanyo City is on the small side, but the area once flourished as a red-light district, and it is filled with numerous restaurants which bustle with patrons dressed in yukata robes and geta sandals, the traditional costume of a hot spring hotel guest. Nearby Eboshiyama Park, selected as one of Japan's top 100 destinations for cherry blossom viewing, is famous for its 1,000 cherry trees, and visitors are particularly recommended to come here when the flowers are in full bloom in spring. Akayu also grows large quantities of grapes and is home to four wineries, and visitors can enjoy visiting each to sample and compare their wares. In addition, Akayu is known for its nationally popular ramen chains as well as its many more individual and unique ramen restaurants.

    The famous waters of this hot spring district are said to have been discovered by the poet Ono no Komachi and were beloved by the samurai Date Masamune, the lord of Yonezawa Domain. The district is located in an area with spectacular seasonal natural beauty. The waters of the district's radium- and sulfur-containing sodium calcium chloride springs are gentle on the skin and contain an abundance of metasilicic acid, a substance also used in facial lotions. The waters of the springs can also be drunk for further health benefits on top of those gained in bathing in them. A money-saving, wooden top-shaped pass called the Yumeguri Tegata is sold at all inns in the area; the pass allows holders to visit the bathhouses of any three inns of their choice in Onogawa Onsen and Shirabu Onsen. Once the pass has been used up, holders can take part in a free class to paint it and created a memento of their trip, a very popular area activity. There are many other classes offered in the area for visitors to enjoy, including making a Buddhist nenju rosary bracelet, sutra copying, ceramic bell painting, and making custard-like soft boiled hot spring eggs.

    さくらんぼのオンシーズンである６月の山形、かなり前に宿泊予約を、と思ったものの既に満室でした。というのも、温泉にかなり広々とした和洋室でもとてもリーズナブルなお値段。今回は温泉のみでしたが、地元の方によるとお料理もかなり美味しいらしい。次回は泊まってみたい場所です。高級旅館ではありませんが地元の方と触れ合えるという点では海外観光客の方にもおすすめです。お風呂も良かったです。
