"This ""super onsen"" hot springs spa is located in an urban area of Uozu City along the Hokuriku Expressway. They are especially proud of their Tateyama Renbo Panorama Daiyokuden, a large public bath featuring stones gathered from across the country that have been carefully arranged to resemble the Tateyama Mountain Range. The ability to enjoy magnificent natural scenery right in front of your eyes despite being in an indoor bath is quite appealing. Another attraction of note is their Teien Dai-Rotenburo, a large open air bath decorated with large stones (sourced primarily from Shikoku) that have been arranged in the style of a Japanese garden. There, you can relax while enjoying the diverse scenery of the changing seasons. The spa's other facilities include a spacious rest area, relaxation rooms, and a game corner."

"This ""super sento"" public bath is located immediately adjacent to Fujikoshi Station on the Toyama Chihou Railway Fujikoshi-Kamidaki Line. Open from 8:00 a.m. to midnight, the ability to take your time enjoying yourself offered by such long hours is one of its charms. Its two large indoor baths, one for each gender, are designed to have the feel of an open air bath. Alternated each day, they feature scenery modeled after a mighty valley and the middle basin of the Jinzu River, respectively. Their other indoor baths include plain water baths with a great sense of openness, as well as massaging baths equipped with different five types of water jets, each with a different health benefit. In addition to standard baths, they offer other attractions including medicinal herb baths, saunas, and more. The facility also features a restaurant with a diverse menu, a beauty parlor, and body care facilities, making it a place to relax body and mind. "

This hot springs spa adjacent to the roadside station Kamonpa-Ku Shinminato is a 20 -minute bus ride from JR Kosugi Station via the Kitokito Bus (Imizu City Community Bus) Shinminato-Kosugi Line. The baths open in the morning at 5:00 a.m. and close at 11:45 p.m. at night. The spa's 50 degree centigrade hot spring water, sourced from 1,200 meters below ground, has unusually high hypertonicity, meaning it is easily absorbed by the body. It warms the body to the core and is believed to help with nerve pain, poor blood circulation, and chronic women's diseases. The spa's restaurant features relaxed tatami-style seating. Its zarusoba (chilled soba noodles served on a bamboo strainer) and soy milk soft-serve ice cream are popular choices. The spa also offers packages for girls' nights out that allow you to enjoy the hot springs without having to bring anything.

This day bathing hot springs facility is a 15-minute drive from Hokuriku Expressway Kosugi Interchange. The facility uses two types of bath water; natural hot spring water from 1,200 meters underground and high-concentration artificial carbonated baths. The high-concentration carbonated spring water warms the body to the core, and the carbonation directly stimulates the autonomic nerves, giving it great relaxation effects. It also helps improve blood flow, which can reduce sensitivity to cold and give you beautiful skin. The facility also offers a number of popular services including body and foot care (massage, etc.) and salon treatments.

This hot springs spa is a five-minute drive from Hokuriku Expressway's Tonami Interchange. The hot spring water, pumped from 1,250 meters below the ground, is thought to help with nerve pain, muscle pain, poor circulation, recovery from fatigue, chronic skin diseases, chronic women's diseases, and more. Their Gensenburo (wellspring bath) out open-air baths are fed with hot spring water straight from the source, as the name suggests. The adjacent circular Iwaburo (stone bath) offers great views of the starry sky when the weather is good. Their rock sauna facility, Hokuriku's largest, offers five different types to choose from, including their Rakutan no Yu, which features Maifan Stone.

  • Kintaro Onsen
    Accommodations / Hot Spring
    Toyama Uozu-shi Tenjinnoshin 6000
A hot spring district located in Uozu, a city famous for its mirages. The district's hot spring was dug from 1,000 meters below the surface in 1965. This sulfur-containing sodium-calcium-chloride spring generates an abundant flow. The area became famous after the Tokyo Olympic Village headquarters were moved to the site. The district was given its name by Shichihei Ishiguro, founder of the district's only hot spring hotel (also called Kintarou Onsen), in the hope that bathers would become as strong and brimming with health as the legendary Kintaro. The waters of the source spring are high temperature-reaching 75° C-and are said to treat burns, skin diseases, and nerve pain.

Toyama Main Areas

around-area-map

Toyama is one of the three prefectures that house the Japanese Alps, with its southern and eastern borders comprising one long stretch of mountains, out of which the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route is forged. While traditional crafts fill the northern coastal cities of Toyama and Takaoka, thatched roof houses offer unrivalled views against a backdrop of fantastic scenery at Gokayama in the mountainous area in the south of the prefecture.
