About 20 minutes by car from the center of Yonezawa City, this day-use hot spring is in Onogawa Onsen, and is said to have been founded by one of the poets of the Manyo, Onono Komachi, and has a record of how Date Masamune's wounds were healed by these waters. It is one of the three community run bathing facilities, and is located in the center of the hot springs district. Although the bath is of simple natural spring water, it is abundant in radium, which is said to be beneficial for the skin, making it popular with women. The waters are a sulfur-containing sodium calcium chloride mineral springs. They are said to be beneficial for neuralgia, muscle aches, women's and skin disorders, and chronic digestion problems.
