    The Hotel Iya Onsen hot spring resort is located in the Iya Gorge. There is also an open-air bath, with hot spring water flowing out from its natural source, which can be used by visitors who are not staying at the hotel. A cable-car gives access to the open-air bath near the valley bottom. Renowned as one of Japan’s “Top Three Secluded Scenic Spots,” the Iya Gorge is very popular with visitors. Within the resort, hot spring baths with scenic views are available.

    Located close to Kazura Bridge in the Iya Gorge, Hotel Kazurabashi is a hot springs resort situated in a secluded valley surrounded by hills. Besides its open-air baths and large indoor communal bath, the hotel is also famous for its Tenku Open-air Bath, which is reached by a cable car the appearance of which is modeled on a mountain hut. A visit to the Tenku Open-air Bath enables visitors to enjoy soaking in hot-spring water while admiring glorious views of the Shikoku Mountains. The nearest railway station is Oboke Station on the JR Dosan Line. From Oboke Station, it takes about 15–20 minutes to reach Hotel Kazurabashi by bus or taxi.

The resort, which also welcomes day visitors, has a large communal indoor bath and also open-air baths. The alkaline hot spring water is reputed to be very effective at treating neuralgia and cold intolerance, and at helping people recover from fatigue. The hotel restaurant features the famous local specialty, Iya Soba noodles, as well as a wide range of other local dishes. The resort is closed during the winter months.

    Sunriver Oboke is a hot springs resort hotel located in the Oboke Gorge and Koboke Gorge region, with spectacular gorge scenery and surrounded by mountains that reach a height of 1,500 meters. Day visitors are welcome to use the hot springs facilities. The main bath affords a magnificent vista of the Koboke Gorge and the Yoshino River. The alkaline hot springs water is reputed to be effective at treating bruises and skin complaints, and is also said to be just as effective as skin lotion at keeping the skin moist and smooth. Transportation is available for guests between the hotel and Oboke Station or Koboke Station.

    Our dinner was superb. There were at least 10 courses and every item was delicious. One of our best meals in Japan. The service was great.

    This hot spring, the sacred spring of Iozan yakuoji Temple, was named when it was discovered on the mountainside when the temple was being built by the Buddhist priest Kukai in the year 815. The sulfur-containing sodium - chloride cold mineral springs have a wide number of purported benefits. The famous “Yakuyoke udon” served at the spa’s restaurant come with a piece of blessed rice cake to ward off evil and misfortune.

    The history of this hot spring resort, located in Tokushima Prefecture's Myozai District, dates back to 1868. Surrounded by natural beauty and a perfect place to rest and recuperate, records say that a salt water bathing hut stood here in the Edo period. The waters of the resort's sodium chloride, hydrogen carbonate spring (sodium bicarbonate-containing salt spring) are said to be effective for general indication and treat such ailments as cuts, peripheral circulatory failure, sensitivity to cold, depression, and abnormally dry skin. They also have a strong warming effect which prevents post-bath chills and excellent moisture retention effect. The resort has lodging facilities, making it a great base from which to explore the area; the resort's bathing facilities are also open to non-guests. The resort is also located between the Shosan-ji Temple and the Dainichi-ji Temple, the 12th and 13th stations along the Shikoku Pilgrimage which follows sacred sites connected to the great monk Kobo Daishi.
