Boasting 450-years history, you can take a bath at the stand-alone Masugataya inn that's been in the same family for 17 generations. The simple acidic sulfur hot spring water is a bluish milky white. Located about 1,300 meters above sea level in the Azuma Mountain Range, people love its open-air bath where you can absorb the beauty of the quiet valley deep in the mountains.

ＪＲ峠駅から送迎バス（要予約）で約2５分、徒歩だと2時間半です。手前に位置する滑川温泉からは徒歩で１時間です。とても立派な建物ですが館内も清掃が行き届いておりピカピカです。客室はすべて洗浄便座のトイレ付き。従業員の方々の対応も良かったです。クレジットカードは使えません。温泉は硫黄泉の源泉かけ流し。内湯は男女別ですが３つある露天は女性専用時間をのぞき混浴です。三方を断崖に囲まれた野趣あふれ...

この界隈で最奥に位置するため、秘境感も更に増します。道中は車のすれ違いも厳しいような道ですが、日常的に運転される方ならまず問題ありません。駐車場から宿までも登り坂の徒歩となりますが、よほどの高齢者でもなければ問題のない程度かと思います。8月の終わりに宿泊で利用しましたが、気温も涼しく冷房のない部屋(暖房はあり)でも快適でした。料理は豪華とは言えませんが、山奥に居ながら海の幸が出されるような...

日帰り温泉で利用しました。受付で簡単に説明を受けて露天風呂に。平日の13:30頃でしたが誰も入っていなかったので一番景色のよい奥の混浴湯でひとっぷろ。脱衣所は野外にあるけど綺麗に清掃してあり、気持ちよく使えます。風呂は濁湯でなんとも気持ちよい！晴れていたこともありますが周りの山々の渓谷の雄大さが加わって極楽浄土の気分を味わえました。次回は泊りで来てみたいです！ちなみにやはり昼間のほうが...
