    Learn about the history of the Kosaka mines at this museum, which has a rich collection of cultural artifacts on display and introduces the history of Lake Towada, the natural scenery of Kosaka Town, and more using graphs, photos, and dioramas. Outdoors, there’s also a steam locomotive guest car that carried Emperors Chichibu no Miya and Takamatsu no Miya. It’s about two minutes by car from the Kosaka Interchange on the Tohoku Expressway.

    This museum is located in Shishigamori Shakanai, Odate City. Making use of the former Prefectural Odate Higashi Senior High School building, the museum contains exhibits on the nature, history, folk customs, and industries of Odate. There's also an adjoining exhibition room displaying magewappa bentwood boxes, a traditional area craft; and a children's science center where kids can learn about science hands-on.

    タイトル通りです。あまり印象に残っていません。何もないので大館は好きなのですが、逆にそれだけ。ただ、コンビニなどは普通にあるので不便でもないです。

    A ski resort located on Mt. Moriyoshi, a mountain selected for inclusion in a list of Japan's 100 best mountains for viewing flowers and Japan's 100 best frost covered tree scenery destinations. The resort has three beginner courses and two intermediate courses, making this a great destination for first-time skiers. But the resort's biggest draw is the stunning frost covered trees which can be seen near the top of the 1,200 meter high mountain. In February, the resort holds nighttime tours in which you can view the trees from the comfort of the cabin of a snowcat. Outside ski season, visitors can take in alpine plants in summer and stunning fall foliage in autumn. A 3.5 kilometer long lift with comfortable gondolas goes to the top of the mountain, making it easy even for senior citizens to enjoy the view.

    夫婦で比内地鶏を食べに立寄りました。 先ずは美味しい! 店内は綺麗で、店員さんは皆秋田美人です。 焼鳥焼いている店員さんもバッチリ化粧した秋田美人でした。 焼き方が大変丁寧でした。また、食べに行きたいです。

There is also a shop displaying and selling local wildflowers, and locals often gather here to mingle.

    The Hamabe no Uta Ongaku-kan Museum is a historical museum dedicated to the life and work of Narita Tamezo, the composer of “Kanariya” (“Canary”), which is said to be the earliest Japanese children’s song. The Museum takes its name from one of Narita’s best-known works: “Hamabe no Uta” (“A Song at the Seaside”). The Museum is housed in a retro, Western-style building. The first floor has listening spaces where visitors can listen to various different songs; the second floor is devoted to exhibition space. The stage in this part of the Museum has a large grand piano and a life-size model of Narita Tamezo; player piano performances are accompanied by explanations of the history of children’s songs in Japan.

    成田為三という音楽家のことは全く知りませんでしたが、「浜辺の歌」「かなりや」という曲は聞いたことがあり知っていました。成田為三のロボットがあったりしてなかなか面白い記念館でした。

    This park is located in Kotsunagi, Futatsui-machi, Noshiro City. The name Kimimachi-zaka was bestowed on the area by Emperor Meiji when he visited it during an imperial tour of the Tohoku region. There is an anecdote about the emperor receiving a letter sent by the empress out of concern about his long journey while he stayed in the area. The park features a stone monument commemorates the rest the Emperor took in the area, and an additional monument is inscribed with the waka poem included in the empress' letter. The park also features the Koibumi Shrine, a mailbox for love letters, a gallery, a cafe, and more. Visitors can enjoy scenery created by Byobu Rock and the area's seasonal nature, such as cherry blossoms in the spring.

    This waterfall is located in Takinosawa, Fujikoto, Fujisato Town, Yamamoto County. The area around the falls has been built into a park dedicated to promoting affinity with water. It is a popular spot for experiencing the seasonal nature of the valley, including the fresh spring greenery and the fall foliage. Sugae Masumi, the late Edo period traveler who spent his final years in Akita, visited the falls. A stone monument bearing the waka poem he wrote during that visit stands near the falls.

    This gingko tree, which is also known as the Tanaka-no-Oicho, is located in Tanaka, Fujikoto, Fujisato Town, Yamamoto County. The large tree, which is 25-meter-tall and has a circumference of 8.5 meters, is the sacred tree of the adjacent Tanaka Shrine. Legend has it that when the Buddhist monk Kukai visited the area, he stuck the chopsticks he used to eat his lunch in the ground they grew into the ginkgo tree. It has been designated as a Prefectural Natural Monument.

    A hot spring hotel located a three-minute walk from Akitashirakami Station on the Gono Line in Yamamoto District, Akita Prefecture. The hotel's bathhouse is also open to non-guests, and inside you can enjoy the waters of a hot spring said to treat such ailments as nerve pain in a wooden bath modeled after a local sandfish fishing boat, and a stone bath modeled after the area's rocky coastal cliffs. The bathhouse also has a boiled barley and rice stone bath, and a spacious sauna. The hotel has a variety of Western and Japanese-style rooms and, for the outdoorsy type, trailer houses with kitchens.     A nature observation forest in the Fujikotosawa National Forest in the Fujikoto region of Fujisato Town, Yamamoto County. It's located in the Shirakami mountain region between Mt. Fujisato-komagadake and Mt. Sangaiyama near the head of the Fujikoto River. The site has a walking trail allowing you to explore the deep nature of the Shirakami Mountains and the old-growth Japanese beech forest with giant trees over 400 years old more easily than if you were mountain climbing.

    A scenic valley location in Happo Town, Yamamoto County, located along the Mase River which originates in the Shirakami mountain region. The name comes from 30 potholes called Oketsu carved out of the riverbed by stones caught in the river current (Sanju is Japanese for 30). The surrounding area has a series of paths allowing you to enjoy the beautiful natural scenery interwoven with the mountain streams including the Ouketsu potholes, unusual boulders, and verdant green new growth or changing autumn colors.
