- Yupiasu is a multi-purpose leisure facility located on Yupiasu Road to the east of the Kitamatsuzono residential district in Morioka City. Yupiasu was established with the aim of providing a venue to strengthen community ties among Morioka’s citizens through health and sport related activities. Besides heated pools and baths, there is also a gymnasium, conference rooms and other facilities. The pool area has water slides and a “lazy river,” making Yupiasu a place that children will enjoy visiting. The hot springs area has outdoor pools and a sauna; not only is this ideal for washing the sweat off after taking part in sporting activities, it is also great for just relaxing on weekends or holidays.

In addition, because it is situated along a mountain climbing course, it is used not only by campers but also mountain climbers. It is open every year from April until around November.

盛岡市の郊外にある動物園です。これといった珍しい動物はいないのですが、入場料は格安ですし、動物園好きなら十分に楽しめます。敷地はそれなりに広いので、良い運動になります。

江戸時代から盛岡城に縁のある場所。南部伯爵家別邸として1908年に新築造園された木造建築と庭園が見事です。秋の紅葉のライトアップが有名ですが、初夏の庭園は睡蓮や紫陽花が見頃。池の周辺を歩いたり、木陰のベンチでゆっくりのんびり。館内には行列ができる手打ちそば屋さん極楽野があり、庭園をみられる席でお蕎麦をいただくのが人気。駐車場もあり盛岡の身近なお出かけスポットです。
