- This fruit orchard offers a view of dignified Mt. Kamui and Mt. Hakkenzan, a popular climbing spot, for a sight that doesn't feel like Sapporo at all. It lets you pick cherries, plumbs, blueberries, apples and other fruit in the embrace of nature just about a 40-minute drive from the city center. Their wide variety of fruit means you can find something to pick any day during the open season. Usually, no reservations are necessary, so you can stop by when you want. They also lend out the baskets, knives, and clippers you need for free.

- A souvenir shop located on the second floor of Moiwa Midway Station on the Mt. Moiwa Ropeway. The shop sells Padlocks of Love; according to legend, couples who write their name on a padlock and place it on a rail at the mountaintop observatory will never break up. You'll also find a large selection of original merchandise such as socks and T-shirts featuring Morisu, a local character modeled after the Hokkaido squirrels living on the mountain.

真駒内駅から徒歩10分。入館無料。白い平屋建ての洋風建築の建物は、北海道開拓使に招かれた外国人指導者エドウィン・ダンにより、「牧牛場の事務所」として1880年に建てられたもの。1964年に現在地に移築され、現在は国の登録有形文化財になっている。館内にはダンの足跡を表した油絵、遺品などが展示されているので、時間があれば訪れてみては。
