    Aka Island is part of the Kerama Islands group. It belongs to Zamami in Shimajiri District, Okinawa Prefecture. It is the setting of the movie “Marilyn ni aitai” (“I want to meet Marilyn”) based on the true story of a male dog Shiro who swam across the sea to meet a female dog Marilyn who was in Zamami Island on the other side. On the island, there is also a statue of Shiro. The island is connected to Geruma Island by way of the Aka Bridge and is connected with Fukaji Island by way of Geruma Bridge, so therefore it is possible to reach the island by car or by bicycle.

    Situated approximately 100 kilometers west of Naha, the island is located in the most westerly position of the Okinawan archipelago.     Hahajima Island is one of the Ogasawara Islands, located around 50 kilo meters to the south of Chichijima Island; there is a scheduled boat service to Hahajima Island from Chichijima Island's Futami Port, with the journey taking around two hours. Hahajima Island is a verdant island covered with sub-tropical primary forest. Mt. Chibusa, the highest peak on the island at 463 meters, has a rich ecosystem that includes endemic plants such as Melastoma pentapetalum and Dendrocacalia, as well as wild bird species such as the endemic Bonin white-eye. Marine leisure activities such as scuba diving, boat cruising and whale-watching are popular here. There are also guided tours that take visitors to see the habitats of Hahajima Island's precious endemic species.

    This uninhabited island off the coast of Hirado Island is located in Shimonakano-cho, Hirado City. It is included in ''Sacred Places in Hirado and Village,'' which forms part of the ''Hidden Christian Sites in the Nagasaki Region,'' a UNESCO World Heritage. It became a holy place for the martyrdom of the Christians executed there in the early days of the prohibition on Christianity. The hidden Christians revered the island and called it by various names including ''St. John,'' and water-drawing ceremonies were held using the island's water as holy water.

With the installed benches and pavilion, you can leisurely gaze at the sea. From the surrounding walking paths, you can look out over Mt. Hakodate, the cityscape of the western district and the red brick warehouse. On clear days, you can even make out Mt. Komagatake and other beautiful mountains in the distance.

    This island located south of Cape Sata in Osumi Peninsula, Kagoshima Prefecture. Most of the island is mountainous and has a rich and beautiful natural environment. The island and Shirakami Mountains were officially registered as Japan's first World Natural Heritage sites in 1993. Various scenic Yakushima destinations include: the Jomon Sugi cedar, estimated to be between 2170 and 7200 years old; Oko Waterfall, chosen as one of the 100 elections of the waterfall in Japan; Nagata Inakahama Beach, a breeding ground for loggerhead turtles; and Hirauchi Kaichu Onsen that can only be bathed in for two hours during low tide.
