You can reserve your spot for one of their free brewery tours and purchase a bottle or some of their original products made with sake and sake lees at their shop, which also holds free tastings. There are paid tastings in their lounge which offers sweets made with sake, too.

    大山ガルテンの本店です。国道212号線沿いで日田と杖立温泉の間です。大分道の日田IC経由で小国方面に出かけたときに帰りによく立ち寄ります。食事の場所も併設されています。日田市内ですが、小国の牛乳やヨーグルトもあるのがありがたいです。この日は梅シロップと牛乳、ヨーグルトを買って帰りました。

The adjoining papercut art museum displays pieces by papercut artist Makoto Yozan. Each year in April, the market holds the Budo Roman Daikagura, a Noh Kagura dance-based performance. The market is also used as a center for local events such as marathons and mountain biking competitions.

Due to the many stands selling grilled corn on the cob, a local specialty, drivers will smell the fragrant aroma of grilled corn in their cars. The stands and markets sell grilled corn on the cob; fresh farm produce; and local specialty products such as goheimochi broiled rice cake skewers and Japanese pickles - the selection varies from establishment to establishment. The best time to visit is in August. Hours vary by establishment.

The cooperative's recommendations are Naruto Kitanada Beppintai, a local brand of wild-caught sea bream with fixed net, Sudachiburi, a brand of farmed Japanese amberjack, and Naruto Wakame, the local brand of farmed wakame seaweed. Other offerings include dried seafood prepared by fishermen as well as local vegetables such as Naruto Kintoki sweet potatoes. The attached Gyokyo Shokudo Uzushio restaurant serves fishermen's cuisine such as rice bowls made with fresh seafood.
