20 minutes by car from the Iwaki-Yumoto Interchange. A tourism and shopping facility located in Iwaki Onahama Minato Oasis. Bustling with tourists, the facility hosts a seafood market selling fresh delicacies just brought in from Onahama Port, restaurants, souvenir shops, and more under the catchphrase, “everything good in Iwaki.” The seafood rice bowl and handmade soba noodle set has remained a popular dish for visitors to enjoy here since it opened 20 years ago. The Iwaki Day Cruise, a sightseeing ship which makes short trips around the bay, is also a popular activity for visitors to enjoy.

They have a good exhibition about the tsunami of 2011 and the refugee life. Its really impressive. Im not a fan of fish so a part of the ground floor isnt for me with the big fish market, but...

We toured the glass village and while all of the glass items displayed and for sale were beautiful, unfortunately the furnace used for making things was under construction/repair. A typhoon had...

A tourism facility located in the Owakudani valley, a popular sightseeing spot in Hakone Town, Ashigarashimo County, Kanagawa Prefecture. The facility’s famed “kurotamago” (“black eggs”) boiled eggs are cooked using the local geothermal heat and turn black from the influence of volcanic gasses; it is said one’s life is extended by seven years eating just one. You can enjoy a kurotamago in the facility or take some home as a souvenir. In addition to a souvenir shop, there’s a hiking trail where visitors can see the smoking grounds of Owakudani, Mt. Fuji, and the natural beauty of Hakone; an all-you-can-eat buffet restaurant; and the Hakone GeoMuseum, where visitors can learn about volcanic Mt. Hakone.

Visited as part of our tour. The famous black eggs eating 1 meant to add 7 years to your life. Nice gift shop and cafe to visit. Sadly due to our weather (foggy) unable to see much, but on a good day...

Yonekoyaki Craft Center is a craft workshop located right next to Yonehara Beach on Ishigaki Island. The Center can be recognized by the huge Shisa (Okinawan lion-dogs) at the entrance. Within the Center grounds there are ponds and a stream, with colorful, characterful art-works scattered around. Inside the Center, a wide range of unique, colorful miniature Shisa statues are on sale, varying in size from Shisa so small that they will fit in the palm of your hand, to larger statues around 30 centimeters high; these make ideal souvenir gifts.

Our tour guide recommended my kids will love this place and took us here. He was 100% right about it. My kids were totally captivated by the colorful statues which keep us safe from the devil. Haha

A shop owned and operated by the Hakuichi gold leaf company. The shop operates out of a remodeled old public bath building in the Higashi Chaya District, a charming area where many old Japanese homes and teahouses stand side by side. Making use of the high ceilings of this former public bath, the shop's open and airy sales space is filled with a variety of gold leaf-decorated crafts. Particularly popular items include the shiny gold leaf cosmetics and oil blotting papers. The shop even has free test products for customers to sample. Many customers are also sure to order a cone of soft serve vanilla ice cream covered with a sheet of ritzy gold leaf.

Gold leaf did not taste like much, but it was an experience that you don’t get all that often! Icecream was simple soft serve, but the eating was part of the adventure!

This is an undiluted sake storehouse for the Kagura Shuzo brewery, famous for products such as the mugi (barley) shochu Kurouma and soba (buckwheat) shochu Tensho. Originally a tunnel for the Trans-Kyushu railroad, construction was stopped due to flooding but gained new life as a barrel storage facility for shochu due to its unchanging temperature and humidity. Around 1,300 barrels are stored in the 1,115-meter-long tunnel, through which the rich aroma of vapor shochu drifts. At the facility’s tourism center, one can try the stored distilled spirit for free.

There is also a restaurant serving seafood and local cuisine using the fruits of the seas off Shonai.
