- Located 200-meters above sea level on the upper reaches of the Kase River, Furuyu Onsen has a long history. The Eiryu spring (today's Eiryu Onsen) was discovered in the time of Emperor Korei, and Kakureisen was discovered during the time of Empress Koken by two old men. If you stay at one of seven participating inns from the middle to the end of June, you can also participate in firefly viewing (reservations required).

- "Gion River is one of the best-known spots for fireflies in Kyushu, with a species called Genjibotaru active from late May to early June. With fireflies numbering in the hundreds of thousands, the area has been selected as one of Japan's ""Top 100 Spots for Local Wildlife."" Free shuttle buses are also available during the peak season."

佐賀市歴史民俗館の立ち並ぶ地域にある高遊外売茶翁ゆかりの地に立つ特産品交流会館です。売茶翁とは京都に煎茶を広めた文化人で、かの若冲とも交流が深かった人で、その売茶翁の碑が建っています。中では特産品の販売はもちろんのこと、煎茶を楽しむこともできます。

Rich in kaolin (a type of clay), Saga became the homeland of Arita ware, a delicate, decorative porcelain that is now celebrated worldwide and can be discovered in the towns of Arita, Imari, and Karatsu.
