    Fukuoka Pref. Kitakyushushikokurakitaku Jounai 1-2
A cultural facility consisting of a restored suburban villa located close to Kokura Castle in Kokurakita Ward in Kitakyushu City. There is a tatami mat room which can be used for tea ceremony sessions as well as a Japanese style room with Japanese style seats where visitors can enjoy matcha powdered green tea. The garden itself, a pond strolling garden, offers visitors beautiful, seasonal scenery.

As Japanese gardens go, this one is such a disappointment. It is very small, its only notable feature is the pond, and it is sadly uncared for. They have a nerve to charge for admission when they do...

  • Mt. Sarakura Observation Deck

Fukuoka Pref. Kitakyushushiyahatahigashiku Ogura Ogura 1481-1
An observation deck 622 meters above sea level on Mt. Sarakura offering a sweeping view of the Kitakyushu region. The nightscape viewable from the deck has even been selected as one of the New Three Major Night Views of Japan; the sight of the sparkling Kitakyushu industrial area has even been called the “10 billion dollar night view.” Journey up the mountain by cable or slope car to enjoy the wondrous sight.
