The Ai-no-Yakata Aizumicho Historical Museum is a museum dedicated to indigo blue dyeing, located in Aizumicho. The building which houses the museum was formerly the mansion of the Okumura family, who were leading indigo dye merchants. Models depict the processes used to create indigo dye, and there are also displays of traditional agricultural tools and domestic utensils, as well as indigo-dyed traditional kimonos and historic fabrics. Visitors can also view the historical artifacts and works of art collected by the Okumura family. The intricate architecture of the buildings is also very impressive. To reach the Museum, take the Tokushima Bus service from JR Tokushima Station heading to Nijo and Kamojima, and get off at the Higashi-Nakatomi bus stop; the Museum is about five minutes’ walk from the bus stop.

Indigo dying with friends are funny. We had great time there. dont need to reserve but there are quite lots of people there.
