    This museum presents an overview of the town of Gujo-Hachiman. Built in 1920, the former tax office has been renovated and now has a Western-style retro atmosphere. Visitors learn about Gujo-Hachiman in sections with water, history, work, and dance themes. The “Dance Corner has a stage where they hold Gujo-odori dance presentations four times daily. It offers the chance to see one of Japan's Three Major Folk Music Traditions for you.

    Gifu Pref. Minoshi Izumichou 1883
    This is the former residence of the Imai family who were wealthy merchants in what today is Mino City. Originally built in the middle of the Edo Period, it was reportedly expanded in the early Meiji Period. As paper merchants and the head of the village, they were extremely wealthy, and the house was the most splendid in the region. The Meiji Period addition included a three-meter skylight. The courtyard has an elegant suikinkutsu, used to make a special dripping sound, and has been designated as one of the Top 100 Soundscapes of Japan. Mino historic museum is at the back. Its Udatsu Kura has displays on udatsu (old roof ridges) and you can learn about Niwaka (an impromptu comic play) in its Niwaka Kura.

    Very interesting old residence. Beautiful garden and well kept hidden treasure. Will be back again in the future.

    Ten minutes by car from Seki Interchange on the Tokai-Hokuriku Expressway, this is the world's first blade museum exhibiting precision cutlery and razor blades. It's run by Feather, a razor blade manufacturer. They have a collection of more than 10,000 items on display, including their Giant Feather razor in the entrance hall. Everyone from kids to adults enjoy the museum, with quizzes and pictures, a precision blade corner, a whole wall full of razor art, and a display on the company's product history.

    This museum is located about 20 minutes from the Tokai-Hokuriku Expressway Mino Interchange via National Route 156 and Prefectural Route 81. The museum introduces from various perspectives the world of Shisai style paper patchwork, with its traditions and hidden possibilities for the future, and history and techniques of Mino washi traditional Japanese paper passed down in the Mino area. The first exhibition room introduces the production areas of washi paper throughout Japan, history of washi, and papermaking technology. In the second exhibition room, they give concrete suggestions about practical uses of washi paper in everyday living spaces. In addition, you can also have a “papermaking experience” using authentic tools and natural ingredients in the workshop.

    Nice Museum located in Mino City, Gifu Prefecture. But i think it should have more papers and paper exhibits on display. They had very few.

    This museum is operated by Gifu Prefecture. It consists of a main building with items on display and My Museum with planned exhibits and a hall. The permanent exhibition has a Humanity Room with displays on life from long ago to the present day, and a Nature Room with exhibits on natural evolution and the local environment. They hold events as well as lectures and workshops in their hall and field trips to observe nature at the surrounding parks.

    職場の利用者を連れて遠足で行きました。 あまり歩けない子達が多かったのですが、事前に連絡していたら、博物館のすぐ近くまで、車で行かせてもらえました。

    This museum is located in Hichiso Town, Kamo District. It has many exhibits with materials to learn about the 4.6 billion-year history of the earth from its creation until the present, including “Japan’s oldest stone.” Japan’s oldest stone was discovered in the riverbed of the nearby Hida River in 1970, and is a Kamiaso conglomerate containing gneiss clasts from over 2 billion years ago. You can learn while enjoying the relationship between people and nature with exhibits such as “the world’s oldest stone” discovered in northern Canada that is 3.96 billion years old, and a quiz corner where you can win prizes.

    ＪＲ上麻生駅から歩いて20-30分にある道の駅の隣にある、ＵＦＯの形をした展示館は目を引きますが、数十年前のスタイルの展示館です。上麻生の地で最古の石が出たとのことで、その石が展示されています。当日は列車待ち時間があまりなかったので入館は出来ませんでしたが、土曜日でも入館する人は見かけなかった。時間がある時に一度は利用したいと思います。

    This open-air museum in Yamato-Cho, Gujo City, Gifu Prefecture has classical Japanese poetry known as waka for its theme. In the area around the museum you’ll find agricultural fields, remnants from the middle ages, and Myoken Shrine in the Shinowaki Mountains’ natural surroundings. The museum combines the past and the present, nature, and culture as an integrated whole. Their waka related facilities center on the Museum of Waka Literature and the Yamatobunko with its literary collection. There is also an authentic French restaurant that uses local ingredients, a tea shop, and a big lawn where kids can run around. It’s also a popular firefly viewing spot, making the venue a fun visit for parents and kids alike.

    It was unfortunately raining when I visited here, but it was still pretty. The museum itself is okay---may be pretty interesting for those who are into tanka poetry. Their garden is quite...

    This museum will teach you about the history of sword making in Seki. On the first floor of the two-story building there is a display of swords by the preeminent swordsmiths Kanemoto and Kanesada. On the second floor there is a collection of knives and various blades made with Seki's techniques. They have an area for practicing sword arts, and they hold their Hamono Festival once a month where they open the whole facility to public viewing. They charge a fee for the tour, but certain events are free, such as the Uchizome-shiki, the ceremony marking the first forging of the year.

    A museum established as a symbol of Hakusan culture that showcases a variety of historical materials related to the Mt. Hakusan faith and its gods. The mountain officially became an object of worship in 717. The building is designed to look like Mt. Hakusan, and it shows videos of pilgrimage on the mountain with its 300-inch triple screen. There's also an information plaza showcasing various historical sites, a cultural property exhibition room, and a display on the the Gujo Rebellion, a large peasant uprising. The Hakusan Ryuhoden annex features wooden statues of the Buddha Triad and the Four Heavenly Kings that are nationally designated Important Cultural Properties.

    白山信仰の歴史や、映画化もされ当地で起こった「郡上一揆」について学べる博物館です。3スクリーンの映像が迫力ありわかりやすく良かったです。瀧宝殿との共通セット券もありました。

    This museum of knives unusual for anywhere in the world is run by G.Sakai. Located five minutes from the Tokai Ring Expressway’s Tomika-Seki Interchange, a gigantic knife that is 5.1 meters long and weighs 600 kilograms adorns the side of the museum that has been registered in the Guinness Book of Records. Inside the log house building imported from Vancouver, Canada, you will find exhibits of approximately 1,500 excellent knives from around 30 countries around the world, rare knives and precious knives, and there is also a sales outlet where you can purchase products by G..Sakai in the annex.
