The chilled Kudzu Manju buns they offer in the summer and Decchi-Youkan (sweet red bean jelly) they sell in the winter have both become well known. They also operate a cafe.

    Fukui Obama-shi Minamigawa Cho 9-17
    A Japanese confectioner in Minamigawa-cho, Obama City. Their hand-made treats are made with carefully chosen local Obama ingredients including chilled Kumagawa kudzu and water from Uriwari Falls. Treats for sale include three varieties of Kudzu yokan-jelly and a dumpling with dough made from roasted rice flour wrapped around a deluxe red bean paste. It the attached tea deinking area you can enjoy a cup of matcha green tea with your sweets.

    和菓子屋さんですが喫茶スペースがあり、和菓子以外もいただけるようです。和菓子は種類が多くて選ぶのを迷ってしまいます。私がいつも購入するのは栗の入った上品な甘さの「きんつば」と栗が丸々一個入った蕎麦饅頭「八百姫千代寿」で私のお気に入りです。和菓子ばかりでなく、日持ちもする焼き洋菓子もあります。商品によって購入注文してから少々時間がかかるものもあり、茶菓子の接待(無料）をいただけることもあります。

This long-standing shop first opened in 1924 and is known for their famous Genroku-Mochi rice dumplings. It's a simple treat made by wrapping smooth red-bean paste in soft mochi rice cake and is offered in three flavors, plain, mugwort, and cinnamon.

    御菓子処 大次郎さん。国道２７号線に大きな看板があり、そこから少し入ったところにあります。旧道沿いにある古風な外観、老舗の雰囲気です。しっとり生地に漉し餡の[六方焼]、柚子の香る[青葉山]、洋風の[パイまん]をおみやげに。餡の甘さがあっさり、美味しかったです。店内でいただくこともできます。
