    This is a select shop of traditional crafts in Higashiyama, Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture, open in a tastefully restored building built in the Meiji era. The store stocks a variety of items such as Kutaniyaki ware, incense, Japanese candles, glass crafts, Japanese decorative cord and Wajima lacquerware. Accessories made from decorative cord designed in a modern style are popular. The shop also sells earrings, as well as Japanese and western hair accessories. There is also a gallery in the store.

    This is a long-established and rare traditional handicraft “Nanao Wa Rousoku” candle store founded in 1892 located in Ishikawa Prefecture. These handmade candles with wicks that are made from Japanese paper and made with natural and plant based material, have the characteristic of producing little smoke and a flame that doesn’t go out easily. The flickering and swaying of the big flames look and feel warm and creates a relaxing atmosphere. The store has various types of candles from colored to uniquely shaped ones. The store also offers incense, (Buddhist) rosaries and Buddhist alter goods. The nearest station is Nanao Station.

The store sells Kaga Yuzen (hand-painted silk fabrics) and other traditional handicraft products, as well as famous Kanazawa confectionery products, products branded with local characters, etc. Warajiya’s own original product “Kimpaku no Sato”—manju buns decorated with gold leaf—has also attracted a great deal of interest.

    Kaga Temari (yarn balls) is a tradition said to have begun when Lady Tamahime brought them to the Kaga clan when she married into the Tokugawa family in the Edo period. Kaga Temari Mariya continues to make and sell these yarn balls. Every stage of the process, from creating the base to each needle weave in the pattern, is performed in the traditional way, resulting in charming beauty. And at Mariya, the old technique of using a Kaga thimble is maintained. Approximately 20 minutes on foot from JR Kanazawa Station.

Freshly caught items and dried fish or delicacies made by fisherman are all rather popular. About 18 minutes by car from Tatsuruhama Interchange on the Noto-satoyama Kaido.

In addition, you'll find elegant incenses decorated with another Kanazawa specialty product-gold leaf. The shop's handmade erosoku candles are decorated with colorful Kaga yuzen designs. In the shop's tatami room, you can play a round of kikiko, a traditional game played since the ancient Heian period in which players try to guess the fragrance of the incense being burned. The shop also holds short workshops in which you can make your own kaoribukuro fragrance bag by combining your favorite aromatic woods.

    A shop which carries Kutani ware, a traditional form of ceramics from Ishikawa Prefecture. The shop's wooden sign, boldly emblazoned in blue characters with its name, draws the eye. The birth and modern shop interior is filled with colorfully decorated Kutani ware. The majority of the shop's Kutani ware was decorated one at a time, by hand, by artisans currently working in the medium. The shop also sells a wide selection if cute items perfect for everyday use like small serving plates, his and her chawan traditional cups, and tea cups. Much of the shop's selection is quite reasonably priced and the establishment is quickly gaining popularity as a souvenir hunter's destination.

You'll find grape and pomegranate themed marumon kajitsu fruit patterns, cute seasonal rabbit designs, gorgeous floral patterns, simple blue and white designs, and more. The ginsai porcelain, created by applying a glaze over silver leaf foil, is particularly eye-catching. These distinctive, shiny pieces are particularly popular.

Customers can also buy traditional Wajima lacquerware crafts. Particularly popular are Natsume's ""wish-granting"" and ""youth-restoring"" chopsticks. The shop also provides free name engraving on the chopsticks, and they make great gifts. A direct connection bus operates from JR Kanazawa Station and Wakura-Onsen Station."

The shop's cute and cheery stickers are made with six colors-the five traditional Kutani ware colors of red, blue, yellow, ultramarine, and purple in addition to black. By applying the shop's stickers to white tableware and then baking it in a kiln, you can create your very own Kutani ware design. The shop also carries reasonably priced tableware and other goods perfect for everyday use. In addition, the shop conducts workshops during which you can make your Kutani ware piece on the spot (reservation required).

Notable for selling a large number of pieces by renowned artists, around 70 to 80 percent of the shop's pieces were crafted by Living National Treasure-designated craftspeople such as Tokuda Yasokichi III and Minori Yoshita. In addition to exquisite artistic pieces, the shop also carries reasonably priced Japanese tableware perfect for everyday use. The shop's soy sauce bottles and kyusu teapots are particularly popular. More unusual selections include Kutani ware USB memory sticks and colorful lucky skulls. The shop also holds potter's wheel and ceramics painting workshops even beginners will enjoy.

    金沢の名物和菓子や、かわいい物、ネタになりそうな物までちょっとずつがたくさん集まった可愛らしいお土産屋さん。 店内はあまり広くありませんが、見ていてとても楽しくなります。 渡す人数が多い用、というより個人でお渡ししたくなる品々が多い印象でした。

    豊富な漆器の品ぞろえがあり、気に入った品は現品限りのものでした。その場で了解して値引き価格で購入したものの、家に帰ってみると今ひとつ納得できず電話連絡。店主さんは、返品するよりさらに値引くから日常的に使ってくださいとのこと。この言葉に、漆器を今の時代に普及したいとの店主さんの思いと、客へのやさしさ感じました。金沢へ行ったときには、また訪れたいお店となりました。
