    Tochigi Pref. Mokashi Shimokomoriya 21
A day-trip hot spring bathhouse in Moka City, Tochigi Prefecture. The baths are fed by an ancient hot spring that wells forth from 1,500 meters below ground and is characterized by its colorlessness and transparency. The water retains its heat well making it beneficial for those with nerve pain or muscle soreness. Along with their large and spacious public bath they offer an outdoor bath carved from a massive boulder and a medicinal bath. The bathhouse also offers a restaurant, shop, and relaxation room.

Tochigi Nikko-shi Kawaji Onsen Takahara 45
A park located in central Kawaji Onsen, which has been a popular hot spring resort since olden times. Located on a national road about a 15-minute walk from Kawaji Yumoto Station, it has two foot baths. A ceramic statue of the resort's mascot Kawajii welcomes visitors to the popular relaxation spot for locals and tourists alike. It draws from the same alkaline simple source as the surrounding hot spring hotels. The water feels soft on the skin and is thought to help alleviate nerve pain and various injuries. Lots of tourists stop in to relax their tired legs after trekking or strolling around the hot spring town.

Tochigi Areas

around-area-map

Most visits to Tochigi revolve around Nikko, a small city home to the spectacular, lavishly decorated Toshogu Shrine and Nikko National Park with its mountains, lakes, waterfalls, onsen, and wild monkeys. Neighboring Oku-Nikko is an extension of the fantastic scenery famous for its autumn leaves, while Tochigi's capital, Utsunomiya, is the only place in the world where you can find oya stone beautifully exhibited in temples and the Oya History Museum.
