A day-trip hot spring bathhouse in Moka City, Tochigi Prefecture. The baths are fed by an ancient hot spring that wells forth from 1,500 meters below ground and is characterized by its colorlessness and transparency. The water retains its heat well making it beneficial for those with nerve pain or muscle soreness. Along with their large and spacious public bath they offer an outdoor bath carved from a massive boulder and a medicinal bath. The bathhouse also offers a restaurant, shop, and relaxation room.

"A tourism center located in Yunishikawa Onsen, a hot spring district connected to a legend concerning the mighty Taira clan. Highlights include a large pedestrian suspension bridge which serves as a symbol of the center, a butterfly museum, and soba noodle making classes which can be reserved for groups of five people or more. There's also a hot spring bathhouse whose tubs are constantly replenished ""kakenagashi"" style from a source spring, restaurant which serves a wide selection of dishes you can only enjoy in the Yunishi River area, and a gift and souvenir shop selling fresh picked vegetables and local specialty products. In addition, the center holds a variety of events."

Tochigi Areas

Most visits to Tochigi revolve around Nikko, a small city home to the spectacular, lavishly decorated Toshogu Shrine and Nikko National Park with its mountains, lakes, waterfalls, onsen, and wild monkeys. Neighboring Oku-Nikko is an extension of the fantastic scenery famous for its autumn leaves, while Tochigi’s capital, Utsunomiya, is the only place in the world where you can find oya stone beautifully exhibited in temples and the Oya History Museum.
