    Four kilometers from the Tohoku Expressway Sendai-minami interchange on National Route 286 traveling towards downtown Sendai City. This facility, dedicated to providing visitors with the opportunity to come in contact with and experience Jomon culture, was built to conserve and utilize the Yamadauenodai Jomon period archeological site. There are recreations of the grove, village square, storage pits, and pit dwellings which existed at this vast Jomon period village some 4,000 years ago, reproducing the village and surrounding environment as it once looked. Fun Jomon period classes such as pottery and stone tool creation, fire making, and magatama comma-shaped jewelry making are held in the village square. A variety of events are also held here such as recreations of Jomon period festivals.
